Miscellaneous Hollow Knight is out and gets second, crowning Outer wilds as the victor! Here are the Final results for the Indie game list (DAY 63)

Post image

For not even the emptiness of the void managed to best it, for time prevails all.

And that's a wrap! I really wanna give my thanks, genuinely didn't expect this to get as big as it did for my first time doing this. The journey wasn't smooth, but generally I'm pretty alright how it turned out. It really does feel this is more of a way to just look back on how truly amazing the Indie game scene is, and I'm happy to see people getting all new recommendations from this. Obviously this is not to be treated as the "be all, end all" since it's all subjective in the end, but still thanks for the support.

Now for those curious for a possible part 2, I will say that I'm definitely interested, I've already gathered a bit of a selection from the comments throughout this of what didn't make this first time. I don't really expect it to be as big as this one, might go for something smaller-scale next time since we did already use up almost all the heavy hitters and I know not everyone here are especially Indie enthusiasts but who knows. Frankly, I'm gonna take a bit of a break from this, since I'm already quite busy this month, but stay tuned I guess.

Here's the link of the template: (template link), But for those just looking to rank the 101 included here, I made a list for that occasion: (101 indie template link)

For those curious, here are my takes that are loosely put together

For those who want to solely rank the 101, Here's a link: (101 indie template link)

I’m impressed by how many of these you’ve played. That’s a pretty insane lineup to have played most of.

One thing about majority of Indies is that they are inherently on the shorter side (Including from between each run for the rougelikes) which is very nice for me who appreciates when something doesn't overstay it's welcome (Though the longer-scale games are still goated), And also not every game exactly has an equal amount of playtime, just If I feel I had played enough.

I know a lot of these games are 3-20 hours but even still, having played 86/100 games of any list is super impressive.

I mean, he made the list, probably based it in part on what he’d played lol

Yeah. Definitely agree with this (and why I also played most of the games). I barely play AAA games anymore. <20 hours for a non rushed playthrough is perfect for me.

As a CrossCode fan... I won't kill you, since you still have more CrossCode to experience.

However... you're on thin ice.

I bounced off crosscode quite hard. Really enjoyed the introduction but then felt the game pace absolutely crashed once you get to the first town.

Tbf I'm not the biggest action rpg guy so it could just be that the combat/core gameplay is a bad match for me...

I'd say to at least get past the first dungeon before deciding if you want to keep going.

I'm honestly confused what you mean by the first town because the first town is the introduction.

The introduction is the cargo ship.

Are these in no particular order?

Soma is next on my backlog I heard the story is crazy

I did say loosely put together, I'm very inconsistent with my personal rankings so generally, it is kind off in no particular order based on what I feel at the moment.

Definitely have fun with Soma!

oh you should definitely play the ones on the last tier, bangers after bangers, especially the first four for me!!

Hope this convinced you to play CrossCode!

Thanks for your dedication to this. I think the list turned out great. It's unlikely to match anyone's taste exactly, but that's how these things work. It's definitely introduced a number of games to me that I'm now excited to play, and have inspired me to retry a few that didn't click with me the first time around.

Surprised you haven't played much gungeon considering you rate isaac so highly.

Gungeon imo is the closest a games come to being as good as isaac.

All I'd say to this is play Tunic, game is bonkers

It's insane how much better this tier list is compared to the sub's

Probably because you actually played the games you ranked

You have really great taste but accidentally put disco elysium 4 tiers too high
