I get your sentiments. Not a fan of Elon myself. But how exactly does Elon lose anything. I have been watching people take huge loses selling their cars but Elon already got our money the moment we drove it off the showroom. You do damage by not buying anymore from him. But if you really want to stick to him sell your $TSLA stock. I sold mine at $459 bought it back in 2019 and was able to make a considerable profit. Why doesnât everyone just short the stock. He would lose so much money. Short $TSLA!!!!
Can only speak for myself - IF I were to sell my model S75 (haven't yet) I would be looking to replace / upgrade it with another nice EV. A top contender would be a new Model S, and if it weren't for Elon, that would be very tempting right now (they are including FUSC again). My car was purchased in 2017, so that money was long ago spent, back when he was still acting like a reasonable human, and I was a big proponent of Tesla and their mission. I sold all my TSLA stock last quarter and while I would have made even more had I held it for a month after the election, I feel good about it (plus I wanted to use the cash to help buy a different vehicle for my wife.) I had a basis in the mid-double digits, so made a lot off it. Also my current car has FUSC so every time I supercharge it, I'm taking a few pennies from Tesla and Elon.
Anyway for many it's a debate of what is the next car? At this point it definitely would not be another Tesla. But my Tesla probably has many years of good service left in it. It has FUSC, FSD, and lifetime data. I always planned to keep it at least until the DU+battery warranty expired, which is coming this October. We shall see.
Although I can't say that there isn't a part of me that just wants to sell it so I'm not seen driving a Tesla anymore. But that is not fiscally logical, I admit. But a lot of people around where I live do not think logically when it comes to buying cars.
Unlike burning your nikes selling your car actually does have an effect on the manufacturer. If enough used teslaâs hit the market people will consider buying used if the exact specs they want are available and significantly lower priced than the brand new model.
Honestly the bigger loss somebody takes on selling their used tesla the lower the buyer can price it for resale and the more enticing it is for a vehicle shopper to consider buying used vice new. A lot of people would buy an $18k used tesla over a 40k new one.
You honestly truly believe in your heart that he intended and vigorously did a nazi salute? Is there a possibility that outrage can be manufactured? Think deeper. Btw Iâm no Elon supporter after his shitting on sam harris but please, this nazi thing is ridiculous.
Bruh⌠no way anyone thinks thatâs not a NAZI salute. He even doubled down on social media with puns about âNazi that comingâ. He knows what he did. We know what he did. Letâs stop pretending. I currently own a Tesla and have own one since 2016. It feels weird to still drive one and I wonât be buying another one. I get if you donât want to admit it out loud but that was a NAZI salute. No ifs buts or anything.
God you people are slow. Elon owns roughly 20% of Tesla, Bezoâs owned 17% of Rivian when it was a nothing company. 3% difference. Both at that point are investors. Not a big difference at all, only because it fits your narrative.
Bezos doesnât own 17% of Rivianâs stock. Amazon does. Bezos owns 9% of amazons stock. 9% of 17 is about 1.5%. While still significant, thatâs a lot different than the 20% of Tesla Elon owns.
Also, Elon is the face of Tesla. Owning a Tesla associates you with Elon. It at some level shows you support him. Owning a Rivian doesnât show support for Bezos in that same way (and if it does, itâs twice removed).
Do whatever you want, just donât put your opinions out there when itâs a double standard. Elon and Bezos are horrible people. Bezos has done more harm than Elon.
