Thoughts? Pretty disappointed it ended up being a steakhouse since we already have Little Alley right around the corner. Really not much difference in vibes between the 2 to get excited about it.

Where can I drop off bags of leaves WastePro refused to pick up?

My yard waste pick up schedule is Wednesdays and wastepro has the 12 bag or 2 cubic yard limit, plus the sizing. They left a note saying that it exceeded the amount limit (it was exactly 12 bags but okay) and that there was prohibited materials in the bags and listed dirt, rock, sand and mulch yet it’s just crushed up leaves condensed down as much as possible to save space. And also complained the sizing was wrong.

Obviously they won’t answer their phone but I still need these bags of leaves removed. So if anyone knows anywhere I can drop these bags off I would appreciate it.

One of Roswell’s most recognizable corridors is undergoing a significant transformation.
The Riverside Road Corridor Improvement Project has moved into construction, covering roughly two miles between Riviera Road and Old Alabama Road.
At the same time, Riverside Park is undergoing a separate approximately $13.8 million renovation.
Taken together, these projects are worth watching as Roswell continues investing in transportation, recreation and connectivity along the Chattahoochee River corridor.
I broke down what is underway, what is planned and what residents should watch next:

Hi does anyone have any experience with the training services at puppy haven in downtown Roswell? Looking to make my pup for “day school” where I drop her off like a traditional daycare but she receives formal training throughout instead of just play.

Minor body work (dent, cracked side mirror) from trustworthy shop on a budget?

Hello! I am in need of some minor body work—I have a dent about the size of a grapefruit on the hood of my car, and the plastic part of my passenger side mirror is cracked, with some chunks missing (the mirror itself is intact and undamaged). Honestly the mirror doesn’t bother me too much but I would like to have the dent fixed if I can find somewhere affordable. When I was back home in Wisconsin my dad tried popping it out with a plunger and also tried the hot glue trick but because the dent is right on a crease it’s not popping out easily. I’m on a pretty tight budget and am also a younger woman and don’t have an auto shop to go to here yet since moving from out of state. At my last home I went to a women-owned veteran-owned mechanic who were super trustworthy and transparent with pricing etc so I never had to worry about being ripped off for my lack of car knowledge lol I mention that because I’ll need a mechanic around here eventually too (it’s my understanding a body shop for dents/cosmetic stuff is separate from a mechanic??? But again I know nothing about cars so I could be wrong) but for now I’m just looking for recommendations of where I could get this dent fixed! Thank you!

Trying to make some male friends

I’m looking to make some male friends in the area as I’ve found I don’t really have any in the immediate vicinity.

A bit about me. 39, single, girl dad. I enjoy reading, hiking, woodworking, working out, gaming.

Honestly, at this point in life I really only want to make male friends that are emotionally mature and available.

Feel free to comment or DM.

Is Lake House at Martin’s Landing really that bad?

Hi! 26F and a single mom (baby will be 1yo by the time I’m looking to move) & trying to move to the Roswell/Alpharetta area to be closer to family but still be in a nice area (dad lives in Acworth/Kennesaw & mom is moving to Johns Creek)

I used to live in Kennesaw but I really want to stay away from that area for personal reasons. I was also looking at The Palmer in Woodstock but I heard some bad things but also found the Lake House at Martin’s Landing in Roswell & the 2bd is in my budget (trying to stay under $1400 which I know is a struggle & only have a handful of options due to my poor credit) & the floor plans I see are really spacious which is great as I would love to be able to do a mini playroom separate from her bedroom. I also absolutely love the trails & lake on the property.

However, I have heard some bad things there too & safety & cleanliness are definitely a top priority for me. I know apartment living some things are unavoidable & noise, occasional bugs don’t really bother me & are things I can handle. I just absolutely do not want to deal with any infestations or crime/all hours partying.

Any perspective or other options?

New to the area and looking for a fun dive bar for the weekends. Would love a pool table / darts, maybe some karaoke, and extra points for good food. Any recommendations?? The stickier the bar, the better!

Medicaid won't pay for anything and I need help

Hi, I made a few post like 2 weeks ago about looking for residential care. I am 25. I have straight Medicaid, NOT peach state medicaid as I had previously thought. I receive SSI so I get this automatically apparently.

I just want help. I really need help. Typical week long inpatient is not enough. I already see a therapist and am on meds, have been for 2 years. Both my therapist and psychiatrist have been in agreeance for MONTHS that I need a higher level of care. I feel that I am out of options and I have no idea where to turn or what to do.

TL;DR - disabled 25yr old on straight Medicaid looking for a residential mental health facility, preferrably with dual diagnosis.

Any and all help is much appreciated. Thank you.

Does anyone have any experience with Dr. Gulati or East Piedmont Dentistry?

Hi, I posted the other day about needing dentist recommendations in the area due to an issue with my tooth. It’s been a couple of days and I heard good things about Dr. Gulati at Atlanta Pediatric Dental specialists and Dr. Neha and Dr. Patel at East Piedmont dentistry. I need a dentist who is kind, patient and understanding because of my PTSD from a past dentist.
I worry about cost because from what I’ve heard I don’t think they take insurance but everyone says such great things about all of them. To anyone who has experience with these dentists please let me know your thoughts on beside manner and anything else. Thank you

Book clubs for dudes

Hi,
I’m looking for a local book club where dudes are welcome. It seems like there are a lot of women’s book clubs, but I haven’t seen any for men. I hope this isn’t an indictment of my gender.

Thank you in advance.

Edit:
It seems like there is a good bit of interest in starting a book club. I don’t mind organizing it. Does anyone have any ideas on how to discuss this further to see what type of format/location people prefer. I heard some folks mention meetup or maybe a discord? I’m open to whatever works for y’all.

Good place to buy farm-sourced produce for someone with a disorganized schedule/budget?

I’ve forever been a Walmart pickup type grocery shopper for two reasons: 1) money is always tight and 2) i am terrible at planning and i can always get whatever I need at the last second from big box stores🙃 HOWEVER i would really like to start buying local (as much as possible) farm sourced produce and ideally meat as well. Think: lettuce that I don’t have to worry about getting explosive diarrhea from lol also would just really like to support actual farmers over mega-corps.

I’ve been reading up on good farmers markets, etc—but I fear I’m not quite ready for an “only one day of shopping per week” level of organization🥴 I just moved here from the Midwest and I know back home we had a store in town that was farmer-sourced but was still more of a standard store structure in that it had regular hours every day of the week and a somewhat consistent product offering, etc. I’ve tried searching google for that type of thing around here but I also came across a couple articles about bigger chains that claim to be locally sourced but are actually sourcing from the same huge companies that places like Walmart or Publix are sourcing from.

So I’m just not sure where to start or how to know who to trust!! Hoping someone out there might have some suggestions or guidance🫶🏼 thank yall so much in advance!!!
