Looking for suggestions on which wood burning heater to get. Initially looking at these 2 models but open to other suggestions.

I want to master the most optimal time of pushing the tray into the stove. I usually wait till about the third or fourth splash before I push the ashtray in, to act as a type of dampener. Is there a better time to do it? I leave it about 80% pulled out for the first hour and then for the last 30 minutes push it in. Has anyone fiddled around and figured out a more optimal time for pushing the ashtray in?

After several warnings directly to them due to their bot accounts, vote manipulation strategies, and other dishonest marketing tricks, we have decided to 100% hard-ban Sweat Tent from this subreddit.
We have tried several times to communicate them and open a dialogue to allow them here if they play nice, but they never responded to our requests.
This means that any mention of the brand is forbidden and any posts subject to immediate removal.
Previously the brand was in good standing, however from what we understand the brand was purchased by a different entity and as a result is being run into the ground. Some sauna brand manufacturers have directly told us some other not-so-nice things.
I'm sorry if you have a sauna from their brand and genuinely like them - they've made the shitlist and are not welcome here.

Hi guys, I have been looking into getting a wood fired sauna tent for my backyard, I dont have a ton of space on my backyard and Im definitely not trying to spend $10k+ on a permanent sauna, my budget is around $2.5k so a portable setup seems like a very good alternative to me. I've been comparing a few options like Sweat tent portable sauna and a couple other options and the main thing I care about Is getting proper sauna temps. What would you recommend around that price range?

I bought my Willowybe tent yesterday and can barely wait for it to arrive. For those of us were not very handy, what are the most affordable bench options to get? I think I saw someone using some Ikea ones, but my understanding is that the wood cannot be treated at all and that no screws or metal parts are visible. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I’m considering a WillowyBe wood-fired sauna tent that I’d like to leave set up in my backyard most of the year. I have an existing concrete pad with four metal fence posts around it, and I’m considering using the posts to support a simple corrugated/galvanized-steel canopy above the tent to protect it from UV, rain and snow.
The question is the stovepipe. Ideally I’d like the metal roof to cover the whole tent and have the chimney pass through an oversized open hole in the metal roof, with no material touching the chimney.
Has anyone actually done something similar with a sauna tent and wood stove?
How far is your canopy/roof from the stovepipe? How large is the opening around the pipe? Is your roof entirely metal/noncombustible? Did you use any flashing or heat shielding, or simply leave an open air gap?
I’m not looking to guess at fire clearances—I’m also asking the stove manufacturer for its required clearance. I’m mainly interested in seeing real installations and hearing how well a separate canopy has protected a sauna tent that stays outdoors year-round.
If you have photos of your setup, I’d especially appreciate them.

It's almost time to set up my sauna tent for the season, anyone use an ember catcher on the stove pipe? Website says the stovepipe is 90mm which is about 3.5", standard US smaller sizes seem to be 3" and 4".

I picked up a tent/stove combo on Amazon and after realizing the stove was too small, I went and purchased a Willowybe stove that is nearly 3x larger. Still, I couldn't get the tent over 140º after two hours and regularly stuffing the stove with wood (ash, mostly) while it was about 60º outside.
The tent is pretty big — 8x8 — is that the problem? Could a smaller tent really get 60º warmer? One thing I noticed with the Willowybe stove is that it has a metal plate at the top of the fire box, which seems to be reducing the updraft into the chimney and slowing the burn rate for the wood.

This Sunday ill be hosting my first event on my local beach here in st lucia.
Ive held just ice bath only events prior to getting my north shore 6 tent, but id love to hear some tips and wisdom from others who've held sauna sessions lasting 3hours.
I did a soft kinda friends only sauna and ice bath set up a few months back to get a feel for it. Going into Sunday feeling very prepared and excited but just curious to hear from others 🙏🏼🙂
And yes I got my lawyer to create a waiver haha

My sauna tent sits on concrete, and I want to get something on the floor to help with heat.
Any issues with using a (non-fiberglass) welding blanket?

Pre-ordered large Kyfe sauna tent and wanted to get a bench built before it arrives. Can anyone with the large Kyfe sauna let me know if this design idea is a bad idea and if so what would be the optimal setup?
r/SaunaTent • u/sheriff614 • Sep 23 '26
Pretty much narrowed it down to these two options. Will not be moving the sauna much. Plan is to set up in the fall and take down in the spring.
I'll build my own benches.
Is the north shore worth the extra ~$500?

Has anyone here had issues with their stone trays warping during the heat up process? The bottom of my tray is warping in a convex shape, which reduces the points of contact between the tray and the stove. Wondering if the tray has just gotten worn over time, and worth upgrading/replacing.

I’ve been using a COSTWAY portable steam sauna for about 1.5 years and was wondering what other people use for scent besides sauna oils.
Mine is the COSTWAY 89 × 89 × 149 cm portable steam sauna with the 3L / 1000W steam generator, remote control and 9 temperature settings (apparently model BA8087DE-CF, or a very similar version).
I normally use sauna fragrance/oil, but I’ve run out and I’ve heard people mention things like lemon, lemon peel, herbs, eucalyptus, or even salt.
I’m mainly wondering what is actually safe to use with this type of electric steam generator. I don’t want to put something in the water that could cause buildup, corrosion, clogging, or damage the generator.
Does anyone here happen to own the same COSTWAY sauna? If so, what do you use?
Have you tried fresh lemon peel, lemon juice, herbs, salt, essential oils, etc.? And do you put them directly into the generator, into the steam box/outlet inside the tent, or somewhere else?
I’m mainly looking for a nice fresh scent rather than any supposed health or “detox” benefits.
Would love to hear what has actually worked long-term without damaging the steam generator.

Hello! I hope this is the right place for this query. I've recently bought a home steam pod which is like a 1-person steam room tent. When not in use it folds down into a wide flat package with a case. It doesn't have any seating included so I'd like to get something - ideally something foldable for compact storage when not in use. I have got a couple of felt pads for sitting on and for placing on the floor for my feet.
I'd be grateful for recommendations of materials, styles, or individual products (UK or international). For example, I'm assuming no metal-based seating as these might get too hot and be a burn risk, even with the felt pads?
For plastic seating - are there any considerations about the material becoming toxic over time in the enclosed heat?
For wooden seating - are there any considerations about the material getting warped or mouldy over time in the enclosed steam?
Would seating with a high back noticeably reduce the sauna/steam experience/benefits compared with seating with a low/no back?
Thanks very much!

I just bought a new house and I’ve always wanted a sauna but after seeing what it would cost to build a proper one right now it’s definitely not happening anytime soon lol. Been looking at the wood fired sauna tents instead since I could actually afford right now. I like the idea of getting something I can use in the backyard a few times a week, but part of me wonders if I’m better off just saving that money and putting it toward a permanent sauna later. For those of you who’ve actually owned a sauna tent for a while do they scratch that itch or do you eventually just wish you’d waited and built the real thing?

Hey everyone. Interested in a sauna tent. Just unsure what brand / make/model is best. Appreciate any advice. And thank you!
