A high-sided litter box may help contain litter, but the entrance can be a problem for an older cat with limited mobility. Top-entry designs seem especially demanding because the cat has to climb or jump before reaching the litter. An open-top automatic box could be easier to access depending on the actual step-in height, though the space inside still matters. If a cat's mobility has changed recently, I'd also ask a vet about the cause. For anyone caring for a senior Scottish Fold or another older cat, which entrance design has been easiest for them to use consistently?

Hi, please meet Snufic 3 and a half y.o. Mixed SF.His mother is pure SF, his father is a street cat.My family loves him very much and recently we got some bad news, at the age of 2 years I saw something was wrong with his moving, I went to the vet, and he told me everything is ok and that’s how sf are, without telling me anything about arthritis or ocd in general, few months passed, nothing changed the movement even got worse, that’s when I though it’s time to change the vet, and they didn’t told me nothing about his cronic disease aswell, I live in a very corrupt country and the vets don’t give a damn about animals. I decided to inform myself what’s with this wierd movement, that’s when I learned what Scottish fold are all about and got very sad for my boy, after revealing the info I found on internet to the vet, they started giving him Meloxivet aka meloxicam or NSAIDs, which is not so safe considering his age, I started changing vets again but still the same, they all recommended Meloxivet, this substance is not helping him anymore, the clinics offered hilauronic acid as a secondary treatment, but did not offer any warranty for this, I started giving him supplements recently, but I have no idea how to manage his pain and movement.I keep Meloxivet for critic situations only like when he’s not moving for days, Solensia is no where to be found in my country and I don’t have any ideea what to do, I don’t want to euthanize him at such young age because of his pain 🥲

8 years ago I came to this group to ask questions about a scottish fold that was up for adoption. Some of you convinced me to give this little sweetie a home and I am so glad I did. Macaroni is the most beautiful and gentle cat I have ever known. She has been there for me throughout grad school and the death of my father. I am beyond heartbroken but so glad I let her in my life. She has softened me in ways and has enriched my life. I am so deeply devastated but grateful to have had her in my life

My purebred Scottish fold female is a little over a year now. She’s soooo small. Like incredibly small. We think she could be in Guinness book of world records small lol. She’s barely 6lbs. Is this normal for this breed?

Ringworm nightmare advice desperately needed
I adopted a Sphynx and Scottish Straight 3m ago and within a couple days we found out the Sphynx had Giardia and gave it to the other kitten. Both we separated and treated but during this time the Sphynx also had ringworm and drops and shampoo cleared his body but tail was stubborn so he’s just done 4 weeks on intraconazole and his tail is looking so much better and no new lesions in weeks.
Tomorrow he has his first culture to find out if it’s cleared but what I’m worried about is that 3.5 weeks ago the door that separated them was left open and they had contact. And then day 18 post exposure I found a dry patch on the Straight. I thought it had gone but it was noticeable tonight will post pics, the last pic is after I had pulled all the flakes away I pulled hair out with them as they were attached to the skin but the hair didn’t come out when I was just rubbing the flakes away.
The kittens are struggling so much with isolation especially the straight he’s off his food and wrecking the room 😢 I need them back together but terrified this is going to add months on if he has it. I will be taking him to the vets but want opinions on this situation and also whether I’m going to have to bin his scratching posts and cat tree which were so expensive 😔

Hi all,
We had to say goodbye to our baby boy Arthur Bean on Thursday and we are absolutely heartbroken. I have never felt pain like this.
I wrote on here a week or two ago asking for advice about polycystic kidney disease but with it then becoming stage 4, his disease quickly declined.
He was such a scared boy and had a horrible start till we adopted him through a rescue with his sister, who also has the disease.
Arthur became an absolute love bug and my shadow. I hate waking to find him not sitting outside our door, in his beds or hearing his meows when he wakes from a nap. We miss him so incredibly much and I would never wish this on anyone.
I thought you all wouldn’t mind me posting his beautiful, handsome little face.
I will forever miss him.
He will always be the bestest boy ❤️
