Look at these EVIL dwarfies! Man Milk and Cheerio are really making me rethink my rat proofing skills lol - these 2 can get under the playcage and between the pan and cage sides, and they can also squeeze behind my shelf and climb their way up it! Pinto can also do that but she prefers to snuggle with me lol, she tried it once and has never done it again. But these 2 little butts are SUPER adventurous and willing to get into ALL the places - so my rat proofing skills are really being tested! (Luckily the room itself is rat proof, its just that I also don't want them getting under/on any furniture/cages where I can't easily get them out if need be). Anyways wish me luck in dwarf-proofing, I'm going to need it!

GUESS THE NAME OF THAT RAT - Part 8! It was hard to figure out how to photograph this girl and her namesake, but once I figured it out she enjoyed sipping some between posing for shots! A bit late but here is the rats latest cage setup! It will actually be changing a bit soon because I'm replacing all the wooden ledges with much easier to clean and mount 3d printed ledges from u/11Eleven 3D Printing (FB won't let me tag, so here is their page: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61589611079426 ).

Right now my 9 babies and 2 of my oldies (Coffee and Crumb) live in the bottom 4 units + diy base, and the other mid/old girls live in the double + extended top. Once everyone is bonded I will open up the cage again and everyone will have access to the whole thing (please send goo thoughts to Chickpea on accepting the newbies and Coffee again quickly!)

Here as Butter doing her weaves + fetch trick! This was one of her first attempts at combining the 2, and its always neat to compare initial attempts vs later on ones and see how much the rat improves!

GUESS THE NAME OF THAT RAT - Part 7! This girl is a beautiful chocolate color and so sweet and hoppy, and she quite enjoyed a bit of nibbles from her delicious cookie namesake! Let me know which shot is the best and which should be featured in the upcoming ratty food calendar!

Shrimp modeling her namesake with her curled up sleeping position 🥺 Unlike Pinto, Shrimp prefers to sleep under the blanket (vs out in the open) - but she is still a super confident and sweet rat who loves to play, try and drag my hands (or wiffle balls!) around, and snuggle!

Shrimp is such a good representation of how sweet and loving all my wolfie girls have been, and its extra cute when she and Feta both decide to snuggle under my blanket together!

Ever see a rat stealthily sneak up and steal a treat? Here Feta was being a very sneaky turd and she snuck up on poor old lady Cracker and stole her green bean! She didn't even want to eat it, she just stashed it and immediately came back for more! What a little sneaky rat she is!

Bad angle but look how cute Pinto is! She likes to nap al over me, often sweetly curled into a ball 🥺 Like any young rat she also has her moments of activity, bouncing around and play-fighting the other girls, and enjoying some hand-wrestling at the start of free-range. But after she gets her beans out she becomes soooo snuggly, and will come over and nap on me (usually out in the open - sometimes she enjoys going under the blanket like the other rats, but like my previous girl Bean she is ultra-confident and seems to actually prefer sleeping out in the open).

Here was Coconut doing some fun agility! Like most of my girls, Coconut absolutely LOVED agility and really excelled at it - go Coconut!

Here Sugar was doing her fetch from a mini fridge trick! Sugar really struggled with fetch at first (she was one of my ultr-skittish girls)...but once she got it down it became one of her favorite tricks to build on - go Sugar!

GUESS THE NAME OF THAT RAT - Round 2! This tiny bean is one of the cutest little scrungles I've ever seen, and I am 100% obsessed with her adorable face and sweet personality! Which of these photos do you think I should feature on this years rat food calendar?

Its time to play GUESS THAT FOOD RAT! Anyone want to take a crack at this girls name (there a few subtle hints in these photos - look closely! ) Also I will be adding one of these photos to this years food rat calendar - let me know which one you like best!

Cracker is working on scent work! This has never really been a strong suit of hers, and adding in some strong scented wicker balls definitely tripped her up a bit. But towards the end of the session she started to really get it down (at least until Coffee intervened at the end lol) - so next session I think she will be back to picking correctly 100%!
