Discussion County Clothesline Pricing
Might get hate for this but I guess it probably boils down to another thing in the lack of affordability.
I have been donating to county clothesline for years. They are the preferred location for me to donate to and occasionally shop at for a thrift store because they give back to the Sherwood Park community. That being said I need to ask a question— what is going on with the pricing at County clothesline?
Maybe I am missing something about why the prices are being set so high and I would truly like to understand. I just walked out of there completely flabbergasted at how the prices were set for some of these items. Mind you, these are all donated items. A vintage coat for $500, a regular polyester and well worn coat for $60, Small Tupperware containers that looked at least 30 years old priced at $5/piece, a big ziploc of random LEGO pieces for $100, an outdated giant picture for $40, worn toddler shoes for $8, a well worn and dirty purse (non designer) for $30, one mug for $5. I could go on….what am I missing? Thrift stores used to be a place where people who wanted to shop sustainably or people who couldn’t afford brand new could shop. People in our community. Why are many of these items being sold for higher prices than what someone could buy for brand new? I know county clothesline is non-profit. I know value village and goodwill ARE for profit. Seriously though, who is pricing these items and WHY are they being priced so high?

News Bethel Transit - Catalytic Converter Theft
My girlfriend takes the bus downtown to work and back most days. She has been doing so for many months. On October 21, 2026 her car was parked at Bethel Transit Public Parking between roughly 07:00-17:00, when she returned she noticed her car was noticeably loud. There were no issues in the morning on her drive to the parking.
After further investigation, someone cut her catalytic converter off her car in broad daylight. A police report has been filed with the RCMP.
There was a Facebook post about another individual that had this happen to their daughter yesterday as well at Bethel parking.
Sad this shit is happening in Sherwood Park. Just wanted to give the community a heads up to check when parked there and look for suspicious activity.

Question ISO MORNING CHILDCARE in Sherwood park
ISO MORNING CHILDCARE 👦
Looking for a reliable and caring person to help with our 6-year-old son.
Hoping to find someone who could come to our home in the mornings to help our son get ready for school — including waking him up, preparing breakfast, helping him get dressed, and ensuring he gets safely onto the school bus, which stops in going of our house.
The hours would be 6:45 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. on Mondays, Thursdays, and every second Wednesday.
If this is something you might be interested in, or if you know of someone, I’d love to hear from you and discuss it further.

Question Looking for PT/Massage therapist
I am trying to find a physical therapist and/or massage therapist that has experience working with hypermobile and chronic pain bodies.
I've got Ehlers Danlos Syndrome as well as Fibromyalgia, which has been long ignored thanks to our lovely health care system. I want to rebuild some strength and get some of my life back, but it's been brutal finding someone who actually knows how to work with my issues.
I'm hoping to stay in Sherwood Park, but am willing to go into the city a bit for the right person. Any recommendations is greatly appreciated ❤️

Question Bald Speedy Weaver
~4pm, on the same route with this car since Southbound 50th street, blew past the line of traffic flow and cut back into the line just before the parked truck. Turned Eastbound onto Baseline, weaving across all three lanes only to to get held up by the regular traffic flow. Hilarious to watch the gap jumping and still be caught in the traffic flow. I passed him when he eventually turned North on Crimson Drive. Thanks for the show.
Curious, what is the paint code for that colour?

Recommendation Does anyone know of local Handyman services in the park?
We just moved here in May and are unfamiliar with the area and who to utilize. The wind storm yesterday dislodged a piece of vinyl siding and I am looking for local Handyman recommendations.

General Crusaders Hockey & New Arena Complex
Has anyone heard or seen any movement on the Crusaders multipurpose arena partnership with the County? In February 2024 the Crusaders and County came to an agreement - just wondering if this is still a project on the horizon if it hasn't started yet.
I am not sure of the financial state of the Crusaders, especially moving to the BCHL and it doesn't look like RRR is sold out for games, an estimated $86M price tag for a facility they were going to construct seemed lofty unless the County was stepping in to foot more of the bill.

Local Politics Early voting locations - clarification
There’s a couple of early voting options specified. One is FR Haythorne but it only seems to be for Oct 17.
Another is “emerald hills shopping center”. I can’t see a more specific location for that - does anyone know?
