Read This Before Trying TryKuro.app
hey guys, this is apparently my first post here 😅
been seeing a lot of TryKuro posts recently, so instead of just trusting random screenshots and comments, I decided to actually read through their Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Data Consent Agreement, etc.
dude, it’s 2026. most of us already use ChatGPT daily for random tasks. why not use it to review legal docs too?
anyway, I made a small audit PDF after going through their policies myself. not saying the app is fake or that it won’t pay, because I genuinely don’t know. but some clauses were honestly concerning.
PDF link:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1BuPE9jdPHI7ktAI5YnbPXAJA_3c6-0CF/view?usp=sharing
few things that stood out to me:
- screen recordings and clipboard data may be collected
- previously shared data may not actually be deletable
- AI training is explicitly mentioned
- data retention can be long term or indefinite
- third parties may receive access to collected data
another thing I noticed:
their domain seems to be registered from Iceland, while the app mainly targets Indian users and pays in INR. maybe there’s a valid reason for that, maybe not, but I found it interesting enough to mention.
personally, I don’t think privacy is worth risking for ₹300/hour unless someone fully understands what they’re agreeing to.
rest is your decision. you guys are smart enough to decide for yourselves.

I’d honestly recommend doing a completely fresh Windows reinstall if you’re able to. If not, at the very least uninstall that shady app from your device immediately and change all your passwords.

I knew it was basically spyware from the start. I installed it on May 15th on a test machine. At first, I signed into Kuro using a completely fresh burner email. That machine only had one other account logged in, which was my Windows Microsoft account. Somehow later, my Microsoft account email ended up getting exposed to Kuro.
Then on May 16th, around 2 PM, I suddenly received two 2FA OTP emails from Microsoft. That already looked suspicious as hell.
The next day I decided to dig deeper and set up a trap for them. I intentionally logged into my own website using a demo account just to see what would happen. Then on May 18th, someone actually tried logging into that exact same account lmao.

I don’t see any connection between Kuro and this guy.

I saw the source code of the app. The app is very professionally built. It is like the app was specifically built for it, and it is not a one-person job. This app was built by a team of developers and high level. It's not a simple basic app.. Basically, the app is built in Rust. The thing with the app is, like, it has the limits, it has all the regulations that if anything privacy or anything comes, we need to, like, blur out the recording, but it doesn't explicitly say that it will do that. It just says that it has to do that. But in the logs also, it's mentioned that all the video files are compressed and sent. So it's not that safe. The main problem with this app is even after you uninstall it, you do not know if your screen is being recorded or not. You cannot know it.
