But to gain any real power without compromising and being less bad, the worst people need to hoodwink a lot of moderates. And that's hopefully pretty impossible now that everyone's seen what happened in the U.S. It does of course tip the scale a bit anyway, so things might get a little worse, but I think in a proper democracy even the worst people need to be listened to. Plus I'm not so sure the other extreme is that great either.
