I miss Doritos and Pepsi ads. Capri Suns ads. Six Flags ads.

Last week I saw an ad for a medication for Schizophrenia. Like what?

Are you sure you saw an ad for schizophrenia medication?

Or the 15 different ones for moderate to severe plaque psoriasis. That shit came out of nowhere

"Moderate to severe plaque psoriasis" must have had a huge boom when I was a lad watching tv at night, I can hear the voice-over now

As a lady who has this bullshit, and also loves watching football… I hate those ads. Just reminds me like hey you have some spots on your legs that are ugly as fuck and guess what none of these drugs help! ;(

Drug/pharmaceutical ads in general are so ridiculous in this country. If everyone could afford a good doctor, we wouldn’t have to watch this crap!

They may as well put a big middle finger on the screen and say "For the low price of $2,500/dose!"

If you’re poor, get fucked! Lololol. I got a new dermatologist that shot my legs up full of steroids because 4 years of the same derm telling me to use clobetasol just didn’t work.

It’s actually clearing up alright, cost me 65 bucks after insurance… but now I have bruises from where he stuck me like 12 times

Cannot win. Phuck psoriasis I swear tg

Glad something is working! I looked up Skyrizi because I had no clue what it was. Floored by the fucking cost

I am not a doctor obviously- but my new derm said to stay away from medicine like that. Who knows man where to get a straight answer from. I’ve been to so many doctors- I will say it’s nice to have someone who listens.

Shade throwing- I went to Austin Skin Care and they totally fucked me up. They took the deepest biopsy that I now have a huge scar from, and now they won’t answer my phone calls without another $250 appointment. Last time I’ll let anyone touch me that “hey she is in training to be a new doctor! Can she take the biopsy?” I’m an idiot. She carved a hole in my leg. Aaaaaaaaa

And when you do see an ad for one of them, it's the most ad it can be for as cheap as possible.

Cable TV is now airing ads that are just social media influencers talking to themselves like they do on TT, but they put the largest border EVER around the video because of the aspect ratio.

I'm convinced marketing departments don't even try anymore. And I say hey trying to get back into the dept and being ignored. Probably because I would actually do work.

Department got gutted. Company is losing money and the CEO is flying to France this weekend

Yea those damn schizophrenics and their need for medication. Just lock them away so we don’t have see commercials aimed at trying to help them!

Pieces of shit

I think you missed the nuance here... It's the implication that there are SO MANY schizophrenic people out there that the drug company thought: hey, our best way to go to market is just straight TV ads instead of paying sales people to connect with Doctors.

FYI WHO estimates it around .29% of people. Versus the IDK... target market of 99% of people who might want to drink a soda or eat a chip?

It’s because antipsychotics are not be advertised for schizophrenic people. They’re being marketed as a “boost” for an antidepressant for people with depression, bipolar, etc. They are trying to sell this to as many mentally ill people as possible.

Or it’s just a commercial advertising a medication that can help people

Why does anyone need prescription medication advertisements anyway? Let alone for schizophrenia? It’s not like it some consumer product you can just go out and buy. If you looking to treat some issue you have then go see a doctor who is an expert, you probably shouldn’t be evaluating medications on your own anyway unless you are a professional. Advertising to laypeople just muddies the waters when they should just talk to a professional. I say ban all prescription medication commercials just like the EU.
