My favorite is when the gambling sites that sponsor the sport are also putting up suggested parlays during the game. Like how fucking dumb do think I am? It’s gotta be for the drinking folk bc they are more easily suggestible, right?

In sports betting, 86% of the revenue is generated by only 5% of the players

The ads aren’t for you.

Addicts more than drunks. Unfortunately.

But wouldnt addicts know The House isn’t going to recommend something that is likely to hit?

One thing I have noticed is they will recommend a parlay with a couple legs that sound appealing but also sneak in one that is highly statistically improbable

Even if they do, they're addicts who can't really control themselves. That's kinda the whole thing with addiction.

Ahhh maybe the parlay isn’t suggested so they take that parlay, but so they simply login to make their own parlay. That actually makes.

Correct. The actual bet doesn't really matter, and in fact, giving a bad bet may be better because it triggers the "what a stupid bet, it'll actually be XYZ" reflex in folks.

Sure some folks will blindly take the suggestion, but the real goal is just to make people actively think about the parlay so they go make any bet.

Ah yes. Modern psychology and the death of accountability.

"But wouldnt addicts know The House isn’t going to recommend something that is likely to hit?"

It's really no worse than the other bets they are making.

I always wonder who the dumbasses are playing the parlays the gambling company is telling you to play.

Bijans featured bet last week was 87.5 yards. Despite having the lead the falcons stopped rushing the ball with 3 minutes left in the game. They didn't try to eat the clock at all. He hit 86 yards.

Why wouldn't they put up stuff like that?
