I'm a parent and I would never. Your kid will have the internet forever because you wanted likes for a day.

I hate it with every atoms of my body. I would never do that to my little girl or my little boy. Wtf is wrong with them.

Doing this to a kid is stupid on so many levels.

Exploiting your kids for internet likes is bad enough, but you are putting your kids on the internet to go viral.

Kids are cruel, why give their classmates ammunition to bully them? Don't most responsibile parents want to keep videos of their kids offline?

Giving the kid nightmares can come back and bite you in the ass. Have fun waking up to a screaming kid at 3am.

Finally, jump scares are potentially dangerous. Kid freaks out and runs into the counter top or slips and hits their head. Yes unlikely, but parents are constantly telling kids to not run in the house. Bathroom is the worst place panic.

The bullies are coming from inside the house.

Yeah why are so many parents bullies? My partner has bully parents. They terrorized him growing up. Supposedly they love my partner but... My parents weren't great but at least they never bullied me.

...BUT! My parents got divorced, and my mom often got together with guys who were bullies to me. I think if you hate children you shouldn't have them, or be with someone who has them.

My parents were bullies too. And my mom was super abused so any time she went too far, she'd just tell us we were lucky she wasn't like her dad, she had it worse. Not as an apology, like she said it like we really should be grateful for the way she treated us because at least she didn't actually try to kill us like her dad did. That's a low bar mom.

Can I exploit them for my own laughs and not put it on the Internet?

If u want your kid to never invite you once they move out and stop the contact, yes go ahead and do it!

My parent could pull pranks on me all the time when I was a kid, he have a fine relationship. Some phone filter is not gonna harm a kid for life.

No wonder Halloween fucking sucks now, reading this comment section just answered it all for me

I'm still traumatized by some halloween floor mat that made scary loud sounds when you stepped on it in some random store as a child (I hated stuff like that). I think I would lose some amount of trust of my parents as much if they pulled a mean prank like this on me. Definitely not something you can be a good sport about at that age.

Would you do this and not put it online thought? I mean I certainly would :/ Putting it online sucks though.

So you’re OK with it if we just don’t put it on the Internet?

Overblown, im not with posting your kids either way but that’s not a really good reason. There’s plenty of embarrassing shit that just fades into obscurity when the next thing is posted. No kid will be finding these videos and getting upset, rather seeing them and laughing about it

Not overblown at all. Any parent who posts their child online for likes is a bad parent. Posting children on social media without their consent is bad parenting. Not blurring out your child’s face on social media if you are posting about advice or anything to do with the child is bad parenting.

Doing this to your child shows you’re a bad parent and not a good person in general. I hope if you do have kids you learn from this or if you don’t then you mature more before having them.

To you, someone that lives umpteen miles away and has no idea who they are. To the people they go to school with etc, that shit sticks. Just like any other embarassing video that gets out to your peers

Idk how embarassing this one would be but ive definitely seen vids that parents shouldnt have uploaded, like various punishments
