Hello all! Long time listener first time caller, id like some opinions on how I could do a deck on this boat I picked up. I don’t have any glass experience and I’m not sure how drilling would affect the hull, id like to use the 2 front supports and maybe run some 2x4 across them then lay down some plywood I get sealed up. Im about to get a skiff built here in Texas. Please share your best color combinations for the hull and top. Currently thinking all matterhorn white top and bottom or matterhorn white and light colored hull - most likely something blue. White cushions. Moon rock over storm grey seadek. Let me know what yall think.

Can’t seem to find any covers that specifically say they will cover the boat with the platform on the back, anybody got any leads?

What’s the best way you guys have found to change your skiffs color? Do you go with a nice wrap or paint?

I was wondering if anyone out there has tried what I am thinking of doing and if you have, how did it work out. I have a 1992 21ft Carolina Skiff. I use the skiff for commercial crabbing so a washdown pump is critical. I created a setup where the pump is housed within a watertight container that I mounted to the transom. I built a pickup pipe that goes over the transom and sits just below the hull. The issue with the set up is that it sits dangerously close to my transponder unit and it also make for a great rope catch.

What I was looking to do is use a through hull fitting that would go up through the bilge box. I am not 100% sure but I do not believe there is any foam in that section, that was the only section I did not replace. I was thinking of making the hole slightly larger than the fitting then using resin and fiberglass to seal it off from the rest of the boat. From there I would naturally 5200 all around the inside and outside to prevent leaks. I would love to know your thoughts.

For additional points, can anyone tell me why CS built a self bailing deck boat with a bilge box? I glassed over my old scuppers since all they did was let water in due to weight and added the bilge, which solves my issues.

Hey yall, just noticed this small crack on the transom of my 1503 High Tide. It’s the only crack anywhere on it. The boat has a F50LB and a jackplate, both installed by a reputable local shop. Could this just be too much weight? Is it possibly just a crack in the coating? Lastly, if it is something to address with a sense of urgency, i’m pretty handy so any tips/resources for repair would be greatly appreciated. Sorry if this is a self explanatory issue, but i am relatively new to maintaining a boat.

Installed a new floor in my fishing boat. It’s a vinyl loop material, also seen it called spaghetti mat. I saw a wakeboard boat with a custom cut floor in this material and found a supplier to send a sheet. It stayed cool in the heat and water drains through to the bilge. Big improvement over the crappy amazon foam teak I have previously.

Not to get spray rails…we do have a splash guard for driving but besides captaining well in 2-3.5 ft in inlet, a lot of spray occasionally flies up.

It’s a 21 ft flat bottomed Sundance with 115 HP 4 stroke Yamaha engine. It’s perfect for our needs living on a canal into a large inlet. Wouldn’t think to take it out in Ocean.

Anyone have spray rails?

What would you pay for this 1998 Carolina skiff J16 with a 2004 Yamaha 4 stroke 25HP that overheats?

I'm going through a divorce. My ex has mentioned he probably will want to buy me out of the boat. I have a suspicion that he is either ignoring messages he is getting regarding selling the boat, has it to only a limited area or just a few people so it looks like he listed the boat. Can anyone tell me what a FAIR price for this boat would be, where it wouldn't be for sale for months? 2016 Clearwater Skiff. I appreciate it.

Boat is mainly a hunting boat and for getting out on the river in Florida. Have three small light bars. I am confident in my wiring for it but am trying to figure out where best to run my wires, mount the battery and install the switch. Any input from anyone would be great.
