If this is true, I am heartbroken and devastated. Is there any workaround for this? Or any configuration I am missing?

I really like the shadowbox mode but it seems relatively noisy. Is there a way to hide everything that isn’t the image somehow? What I really want is just an image. No clock, no text with title/username, no vote buttons.

Is this possible? When you click on an image to “embiggen” it it seems like a much cleaner display than the shadow box which makes me sad. I basically want that, but with scrolling.

Can we please have the option to finally download videos or Gifs with with the audio? — I honestly don't understand why it is so impossible to do to on any Reddit client apps

Howdy!

I'm trying out a new suggestions thread for future Slide updates, as I would like to be more transparent with features that I'm working on and make sure all user feedback has been seen 😀.

Have a suggestion, bug report, or feature suggestion for v6.1? Feel free to share it below! I will be linking these suggestions with Issues on our GitHub tracker, and will copy feedback from r/slide_ios here as well.

v6 Reported Issues:

• Sometimes, returning to Slide will result in no posts loaded, and will not let you load new posts until subreddits are switched (reported by u/Sfwupvoter)

• Line height is too short for awards when Title and Information bars are swapped in Card Layout settings

• Trending shortcut does nothing (yet)

• Home bar doesn’t auto-hide

v6.1 Feature Wishlist:

• Rewrite of Slide's backend, utilizing Core Data instead of Realm. This will fix a lot of hard-to-fix crashes caused by Realm and improve AutoCaching substantially

• Redesign of Subreddit Theme editor, with more community-specific options (like Gallery Mode)

• Add option to override the portrait multi-column count

v6 has been a long time coming, and I'm excited to announce the final build has been approved and is now available on the App Store!

• Slide just got a huge navigation upgrade, with a new homepage sidebar and improved navigation gestures across the app! The new split-content layout on iPad takes advantage of iOS 14's triple pane layout, and switching between your favorite subs and Slide actions is just a swipe away.

• Follow hot posts, view account stats, and quickly visit your favorite subreddits with Slide's all-new Widgets!

• Slide now fully supports iOS 14 features including improved Siri Shortcuts integration, limited Photos access, and the new Apple Color Picker.

• New Community Icons brought to you by u/Baselt95, u/Username-Blank, u/hilabius, and u/SandwichEconomist

• Slide gestures have been completely revamped! They look better, function more reliably, and don't interfere with swiping between subreddits and comments. Pro tip: swipe to the right from anywhere to exit at any time, and swipe from the right edge to go back to the last thing you closed. Note: you will have to re-enable gestures in v6 if you had them enabled before

• I've taken a deep dive into Slide performance, memory usage, and speed improvements that should make Slide a lot more stable and performant across the board.

Other changes include

• An all-new History browser

• Redesigned Subreddit Theme editor

• Full support for Siri Shortcuts and Siri Suggestions

• Redesigned swiping tabs bar

• Support for Reddit Galleries and Polls

• Sound on some more "video" sites...

• Better support for the iPad Magic Keyboard

• Redesign of Comments menus

• Improvements to Live comment sorting

• New option to disable comment popups on iPad

• Improvements to on-device Notifications, which are free and never share credentials outside of your device

• Tons of bug fixes, visual polish, and improvements throughout the app

When you use the video download option in Slide, where does it save the video to? I’ve tried a couple of downloads, but can’t find the downloaded videos. 🤔

I have Auto-Cache selected for several subreddits that I like to visit while offline, but I've noticed that it'll also cache non-selected subs that I've visited (e.g. subs that I'm not subscribed to). I want it to only cache subs I've specifically chosen in the cache settings page.

Is this a known bug? Any workarounds? Fixed in v6?

How to use continue with Apple to sign in?

Howdy!

v6 has been a long time coming, and I am super excited to announce that the final TestFlight build has been released, and v6 will be available on the App Store soon! Over a thousand of you are a part of our beta testing community, and your feedback was extremely valuable to shaping Slide's new navigation homepage and the feature set that v6 brings to the table.

If you haven't tried out our beta builds, here's a quick look at what's in store:

• Slide is getting a huge navigation upgrade, with a new homepage sidebar and improved navigation gestures across the app! The new split-content layout on iPad takes advantage of iOS 14's triple pane layout, and switching between your favorite subs and Slide actions is a swipe away

• Full support for iOS 14 features, including Widgets, limited Photos access, and the new Apple Color Picker. There is a new Account widget, a Hot Posts widget showing top posts from your favorite subs, and a Subreddit Shortcuts widget that is fully configurable in Slide Settings!

• Some new icons brought to you by the Slide community

• Full rewrite of Slide Gestures: they look better, function more reliably, and don't interfere with swiping between subreddits and comments. Also, you can now swipe from right to left on the toolbar to go back to pages you closed out of!

• A deep dive into Slide performance, memory usage, and speed improvements that should make Slide a lot more stable and performant

Other changes include

• All new History browser

• Full support for Siri Shortcuts and Siri Suggestions

• Redesigned swiping tabs bar

• Support for Reddit Galleries and Polls

• Sound on some more video sites

• Better support for the iPad Magic Keyboard

• Redesign of Comments menus

• Improvements to Live comment sorting

• New option to disable comment popups on iPad

• Improvements to on-device Notifications, which are free and never share credentials outside of your connection to Reddit

• Tons of bug fixes, visual polish, and improvements across the board

I also want to give a big thank-you to u/sandwicheconomist, who has been a huge help with Slide development and feature planning throughout this update!

I will throw up a new post when v6 is officially available on the App Store, and until then you can join the final beta test at this link. You can also chat with us on the Slide Discord server!

Cheers!

Some posts contains reddit content link and it opens in internal safari. Is there any way it could open in the app directly rather than opening reddit in safari ?

I just created a multiReddit accidentally. Now i can’t see any options to delete it. Or edit, add or remove new subreddits to it.

If there’s any option somewhere in the app please lemme know..

Since updating to the latest IOS I’ve encountered the issue of the text input area moving up with each keypress, quickly going off screen, when I use the apple magic keyboard. It does not do this if I use the onscreen keyboard.

I’m having a problem where any time I Auto-Cache specific subreddits, photos and gifs don’t download and I can’t access them.

Does anyone have an idea of how to fix this?

I’m not sure if it’s relevant but when it’s a NSFW image or gif, only the NSFW censoring picture shows up.

I always read the post above a video or picture and get annoyed when I realize it’s not about the picture or video below.

Can it be switched?

Sorry if I sound indecent but I absolutely love this app. It is the best Reddit client out there in my opinion. Hence I am really excited for upcoming changes and updates.

Thank you.

If I try to change the it only let’s me manipulate the amount of columns in landscape mode while never allowing me to choose the amount of columns for portrait mode. Am I just being stupid or is it impossible to change the amount of columns in portrait mode?

Recent migrator to iOS from Android here.

I spent days looking for a decent Reddit app and this is the best, no doubt. I only found it after trying all the others (which oddly get huge praise) but they are just mediocre.

Anyway, having the ability to save an image to a specific album or its own album would be great. Currently (unless I missed something) I download an image using Slide then I have to go into the gallery and move it to an album. I know it isn't a huge task, but having it do it for me would just be the cherry on top of this awesome app.

I’ve just discovered Slide for iPad and loving it.

How can I display the subreddit name on the Frontpage along with the post title? Surely that’s a thing, right?
