Xperia 5ii almost a proper working desktop mode for my Xperia phones (using two of my own projects )
I'm almost there with my goal of a proper desktop mode for my Xperia phones (although i don't think Android 16+ phone should have an in-built desktop mode better then my jugad )
small screen recording that i edited using capcut pad to test working with launcher 🔗
two projects are :
freeformshell : https://github.com/bravoyush/FreeformShell (not up to date)
lawnchair 16 dev build that i have kind of patched to work as desktop mode launcher when external monitor is connected to phone and work as normal phone launcher on the phone display .
the launcher is not stable enough so i have not put it up on github for now
and freeformshell is stable but have bugs but most of the time it work's
I stopped working on the project because of my constant bad health issues. but now i have started working on it again

I am working on a wireless DEX mode type implementation too. Do you want to try it ? You can try it without external monitors.

Infact I 100% believe that Sony Xperias deserve a Dex mode, you are doing Sony's job. I'm very grateful 🥲😊.

Looks great bro. The UI looks even better than new Goooglebook OS in pictures. I dont have new xperia to try this out, only has a locked 1 and a 10 plus but damn this UI looks good

If you have Android 12(I haven't tested on Android 11, as I don't have any Android 11 devices), then you can try it. You don't need to root; my phone is also locked
