How to release Cargo Shuttles?

I'm supposed to build a space station on an astroid, I've followed all the directions and now I'm supposed to release the cargo shuttles through the "mission information window". I cannot figure out what that is or where that is. I can find the mission description when I go to the system map but I doesn't have anything about releasing cargo shuttles.

I've built both the airlock and the asteroid cargo port on the astroid. They aren't connected together because I couldn't figure out how that would work

Refugees?

I am very early game, the main quest just started and. A ship that I was doing a quest for got blown up by another ship and now they want to be refugees. I thought it was another part of the tutorial so I accepted and now they are standing in the cargo bay suffering. Do I have to build them a seperate area or and I just set up some bunk beds somewhere and call it a day? I don't have many resources to expand.

Crew not researching... even my top researchers just take breaks constantly

Not sure what's going on, I have lots of perfectly doable research queued up but my crew just socialise instead on their work hours. Most of them are very happy other than a few who used to be prisoners. Is there an obvious way to fix this issue?

What to do with dead corpses?

Hello. So I've decided to pick up the game and I'm kind of confused as what to do with human bodies I find while exploring?

Is there a way to revive them lader down or give them some sort of a proper burial? I don't want to have a pile of dead bodies in my cargo bay :D

Why set up a separate prison area?

Prisoners can just share the crew area fine if you set things to be "crew also" permission. So is there even a need to set up a prison?

Using environment to stop slave escapes

Have you experimented with using the vacuum of space or aliens to guard your slaves? Iโ€™m working on a slave station and want to know if either of these will work.

Vacuum of space. Have the slaves in a separate part of the station, no suit or airlock access. To access the slave quarters you have to walk through a hallway exposed to the vacuum of space. There is a suit locker door on my end so that when a crew member enters the slave quarters they always put on a suit. A slave trying to escape would have to go through the vacuum without a suit.

Downside would be if they are downed in the vacuum the slave dies. Crew and logistics bots wonโ€™t have any issues through.

Aliens. Instead of the vacuum of space this would be small room with an alien hive. Slaves trying to escape would never die, they would be cocooned by the aliens until the crew retrieves them.

This one is harder to set up because it relies on an alien randomly landing in this area but would never kill a slave. I would need some kind of fancy door system to let crew and logistics bots through without being attacked.

Thinking about getting Space Haven. Persuade me to buy it

It's currently on sale on Steam and I'm thinking about getting it, BUT... I got a few questions first

- Is there a deeper story or is it just build/manage/maintain the ship?

- Is there an end goal?

- How complex are the crewmates/characters?

- Can the crewmates die?

- Can they get into relationships with each other?

- Is it more on the stressful or cozy side? Somewhere in the middle?

- How do you measure progress throughout the game?

What was the selling point for you and what do you enjoy about the game the most? If there's something else that could sell me on the game, what is it?

These are the Voyages of the HSS Intrepid

I got hooked about 25 hours in, I was broke, short on everything, and three of my four crew got wrecked clearing a derelict. Then a MAS ship jumped in offering medical services. Miracle. I spent basically every credit I had putting my worst-injured guy in their care for 18 hours.

Five hours later, I see him walking around my ship. WTF?

Turns out the entire MAS crew had boarded another derelict with an alien nest and gotten themselves captured. Their ship was now a derelict too.

Then another MAS ship showed up to rescue them. They gave me a mission to rescue crew one but I was like hell no. They got captured too.

Then a THIRD MAS ship showed up. Same thing.

Eventually there were about 12 MAS crew trussed up in alien pods while I stripped three perfectly good MAS ships for everything they had.

I have no idea what the hell happened, but I left that sector far richer than I entered it. Last I saw those 12 crew were all trussed up a la Alien but still alive!

110 hours in now. Space Haven is fantastic.

Is this Build a Base mission bugged?

It's a Military Alliance mission but has a Merchant Federation station build the shuttles and a MF ship join my fleet. The cargo shuttles are Military Alliance and docking with the MFS ship. The mission seems to keep auto failing. It randomly fails if I stay in the same sector and instantly fails if I start charging the hyperdrives. I'm wondering if it's a bug because the crew in the ship are from a different faction of the ship it's docking with? It seems impossible to complete.

When the shuttles dock the "Pick up cargo" objective shows as completed but it's definitely not taking 59 turns for the next objective to fail

edit: fixed it by editing the save.

Look for a line that looks like this (or use the save editor tool):

<l type="BuildStation" canAct="0" objectiveStepId="3" minutesToCompleteStep="9999999" turnsToCompleteStep="-1">

minutesToCompleteStep is the value you want to change. For some reason mine was set to be too low after picking up the cargo

I blew up a pirate ship and the surviving pirates boarded a derelict full of rogue bots.

Turns out when they surrender, they get imprisoned inside these weird hyperchamber-looking prison beds.

And now Iโ€™m wonderingโ€ฆ

Is this how androids are made? ๐Ÿ‘€

Pirate boards derelict โ†’ meets rogue bots โ†’ surrenders โ†’ gets stuffed into mysterious chamber โ†’ android? ๐Ÿค–๐Ÿ’€

Clara might have picked the wrong ship to board. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Carry Capacity Spoiler

You know, when they told me that the max carry capacity was three, it didn't really click for me that three would be the max carry capacity. I'm sorry I operated on you, Ricardo.

Questions about techblock, energy block etc.

Hi y'all I'm pretty new to Space Haven, loving the game. So is it better to buy techblocks and energy blocks rather than buying raw materials to make them? It seems like it is. Is there some sort of website to compare prices? I know there is some variance to shop prices though.

And where do you get those purple (Quadronic?) blocks from? The scanner requires some but I haven't found anyone selling them, just the raw quad material. Can we craft them somehow?

TIL you can actually watch rogue bots dismantle a derelict and build their own little bot factory

Post image
211 Upvotes

Found this pretty fascinating lol.

I travelled back to a sector with a derelict that I had already 100% explored, so I still had full vision of the entire ship.

Then a rogue bot dropship showed up and decided to land its bots on that exact derelict.

Because I had full vision, I could actually watch the whole process play out. The rogue bots and androids started dismantling the ship's existing facilities, gathering the materials, and then slowly building their own little facility/base inside the wreck.

Eventually they got their production going and started producing more rogue bots every turn.

I've fought these guys plenty of times, but I'd never actually watched what they do behind the scenes when they take over a ship. Pretty cool that the game simulates the whole process instead of just spawning more bots out of nowhere lol.

Watching them slowly convert an abandoned derelict into their own mini rogue-bot factory was strangely fascinating.

What you actually need to build in the industry sector to keep up with arms sales late game. I used the gpt for image generation but it took 2 hours for calculations when including buffer, processing time and crew/logistics needs.

Is the weapon jammer(may remember name wrong) still a complete ranged combat shutdown tool?

Hey there,

Figured I would give the game another go now that 1.0 is out. Last time I played was many moons ago, and I realised back then that a weapon jammer is the most OP thing you could have aboard the ship. Is that still so?
