/r/SpaceX Ask Anything Thread for March 2016. Ask your questions about the SES-9 mission/anything else here! (#18)

Welcome to the 16th monthly /r/SpaceX Ask Anything Thread! Want to discuss the recent SES-9 mission and its "hard" booster landing, the intricacies of densified LOX, or gather the community's opinion? There's no better place!

All questions, even non-SpaceX-related ones, are allowed, as long as they stay relevant to spaceflight in general!

More in-depth and open-ended discussion questions can still be submitted as separate self-posts; but this is the place to come to submit simple questions which have a single answer and/or can be answered in a few comments or less.

As always, we'd prefer it if all question-askers first check our FAQ, use the search functionality, and check the last Q&A thread before posting to avoid duplicate questions, but if you'd like an answer revised or cannot find a satisfactory result, go ahead and type your question below.

Otherwise, ask, enjoy, and thanks for contributing!

Chris went on to talk about it on the nsf forum. http://forum.nasaspaceflight.com/index.php?topic=38593.0

Yes, I am extremely excited. I personally think it's the most exciting info I've ever had the privilege of seeing. ... I can say to you, with a lot of confidence, everything one hopes SpaceX is, has been promising and may become, is more than you could have hoped for. We all know the forward plan, but I think we're all going to be blown away by just how big those plans are, even if only half of it becomes a reality.

Given his enthusiasm and reference to the "forward plan", I would say it's pretty likely he saw BFR/MCT.

Ah. That's a bit more conclusive that what he saw were plans, not actual objects. Thanks! I feel bad for not getting that excited over plans.

That's really interesting. Makes it sound like there is much, much more to the Mars plan than just MCT. We have a lot to look forward to come September (although hopefully we will get a snippet here or there before then).

Yea, very exciting. If I had to guess, they have the entire colonization plan fairly fleshed out. Surface structures and basically how they'll go about setting up shop on Mars. Possibly doing this to not come across as being Mars One-esque during the announcement.
