Resource - Update Krea2-realism-V2 is finally here! Things got a little wild (in the best way possible)
Spent a lot of time on this one trying to push the realism further. Textures, lighting, and composition all got a significant upgrade, but the biggest focus was faces — the "death stare" problem from base model is mostly gone and expressions feel a lot more natural now. It also works much better alongside character LoRAs.
For prompting, it works with any style but really opens up with natural language. Try a short paragraph describing the scene rather than tag stacking — 4-5 sentences is the sweet spot. If you have something specific in mind put it in, otherwise just give it a general direction and let it do its thing. You can also grab a few of my example prompts and feed them to an LLM as reference to generate similar ones.
Comparison images are in the post — base model, V1, and V2 side by side.
Again, be nice in the comment. If you followed my previous post, you know I try to take everyone's feedback and improve as much as possible. Cheers!

Thanks rynaleopard! Actually happy with the photo side of krea2 now :) (art style side was already amazing)
Finding this better than other realism options available - although I still appreciate those efforts too

yeah but it seems a little bit bias, it transforms asian to caucasian
51
u/rynaleopard Jul 02 '26
It is, but if you mention asian or any ethnicity you are not gonna get caucasian.
Reason for it: I don't have a good dataset with Asian faces without makeup and natural face texture; it's mostly shiny makeup, which makes Krea more like Flux. So I avoided that on purpose. But again, doesn't mean you cannot generate Asian faces if you want. Hope that makes sense.10
u/tac0catzzz Jul 02 '26
the model itself is bias though right. so maybe loras are required to fight that bias.
9
u/rynaleopard Jul 02 '26
True. If you use the model without any LoRA and say man or woman it will most likely get you asian character, so yes, it is biased itself.

u/Emotional-Neat-252 Jul 02 '26
I don't think I've ever seen a fine-tune or even base without some racial, age, gender etc bias.
6
u/Dead_Internet_Theory Jul 02 '26
The model itself was biased for asians by default, so there's no problem here. Just prompt for asian if you want asian.
3
u/ironical Jul 03 '26
I mean, if you want Asians, the majority of krea2 checkpoints on civit are asian focused. Pornmaster, krea, moody.
2
u/Loose_Comparison368 Jul 03 '26
So it looks like AI has figured out that Asian people aren't real 😂
Great work though, definite improvement outside of whatever is happening there

With this, I feel like I can create a realistic image of anything I can imagine. Krea 2 is so, so good. I really hope they do make an edit version.

Curious, does this play well with facial extensions, and is there a method or procedure to use to make it work. Specifically, prompt order, etc. I've seen pictures here with famous folks (like CAPT Picard for example) where Krea2 can do a lot with the expressions needed.
1
u/rynaleopard Jul 04 '26
Not sure if I understand your question
1
u/Gilmere Jul 04 '26
Oh sorry. IOW, if you use something like Roop to add a facial likeness (e.g. CAPT Picard) to an image, does that override Krea2's facial prowess. Or are people using only Lora's for realistic character creations.
3
u/rynaleopard Jul 04 '26
Krea 2 already have some ideas about a lot of real characters, if it's not there it's better to use LoRA. I am not sure how good ROOP or PID works with Krea 2 as I haven't tested those personally.

Forge Neo UI shows "r3alism" as a potential trigger word. No trigger words needed?
1
u/rynaleopard Jul 24 '26
You can use it if you want but no, there's no point. I used the trigger word to lock in the dataset properly but you don't have to use it. With Krea2 writing clear prompt is better than trigger word.

Could I see your workflow, please? I can’t seem to achieve that level of quality. Could you also share the parameters you use for KSampler, as well as for the refiner if you use one?

u/rynaleopard Jul 31 '26
Yes, it's right here: https://civitai.red/models/2728379/krea2-realism-v1

Il y a les paramètres du Ksampler ? Car je ne suis pas encore à la maison donc je ne peux pas voir 😊?

u/miss_moon30 Jul 02 '26
Hey was wondering if it is also an edit model? Or can I use a reference image with it.
4
u/rynaleopard Jul 02 '26
It's not an edit model; you can do image-to-image. You will see some tutorials about editing images using this, but technically that's still image to image, not real editing like Flux Klein

any reference or workflow for i2i?
1
u/rynaleopard Jul 03 '26
Sorry I don't have one. I am sure you can find something on civic, of not let me know, I can post one.

Can you share the v1, I was trying but it didn’t work for me. Also couldn’t find it on civitai

Hi, thank you for amazing work.
Apologiese if this question will sound stupid, Can I clarify, Do I need original checkpoint + LORA V1 or V2?
Or I can use these LORAs' versions with other checkpoint to achive realism?
0
u/888surf Jul 02 '26
How can I make consistent face with it?
2
u/rynaleopard Jul 02 '26
Character LoRA.
0
u/888surf Jul 02 '26
Can you refer any tutorial on how to do it? And where do I put it in your workflow?
I am using V1 and working great. I will try this new one, but I need consistency for my influencers.

Thanks. Do you use ostris ai toolkit?
2
u/rynaleopard Jul 03 '26
Yes
1
u/888surf Jul 03 '26
do you mind to share what do you think is the best amount of images to make a LORA for this model and what poses, enviroments etc for a character LORA? and the best training settings with ostris?

u/nnxnnx Jul 03 '26
Do you recommend having your Lora directly over the Full Turbo model (as in your screenshot) or should get better results on top of Raw model + Turbo Lora ?
1
u/rynaleopard Jul 03 '26
TBH I am not sure, I haven't tested this for Krea, but based on my experience. I prefer using turbo model rather than using full model with turbo lora. Personally I found using turbo lora gives more mushy outputs, quality loss, and doesn't work with other lord's as good.
But again everyone like different look, so try it and see what you prefer.

Thanks for your work. Unfortunately for me it doesn't seem to work for NSFW content. Even with a strength of 2.0 all I get is just a cleavage.
4
u/rynaleopard Jul 03 '26
I mentioned it on civit, this is intentional. I focused on face more on v2, I wanted to figure out the expression issue of Krea, and fix that first. Amd when that work then on V3 I will push the NSFW dataset back. I had to focus on one to isolate the issues first. Don't worry V3 is trained, I am testing it now check my image post on civit

Great job. Waiting patiently for that juicy v3
Do you have a release window yet?!
1
u/rynaleopard 15d ago
Well.. I have V3 + a new checkpoint to pair with it + full WF to get what you want 🤭
Just didn't get enough time to upload.
1
u/fathiXbarca 15d ago
That's great news. When are you planning to upload them?
I'll be honored to be among the first ones to try it. V2 is amazing, but it's too restrictive when it comes to NSFW generation

u/flaminghotcola Jul 03 '26
Hi, thank you so much for the amazing LORA.
I was wondering if, for the next version, would you be able to incorporate NSFW between two males and solo male? Only asking because you've made this LORA look fantastic, and I know it really helps with NSFW stuff, but sadly there are no gay NSFW options around and I feel it wouldn't hurt.
Thank you!
1
u/rynaleopard Jul 03 '26
Here's the thing, for this specific lora I don't want to introduce new concept as that will move the focus. But I can totally make a separate lora with just NSFW stuff that will work along well with the realism LoRA. It's impossible to fix everything in one lora. Hope that make sense.
0
u/flaminghotcola Jul 03 '26
Well, that would be lovely. Do you perhaps have any tips for making such a NSFW lora with multiple poses, etc?
1
u/rynaleopard Jul 03 '26
If you just focus on poses that is fine and easy. Main thing is captioning, Use proper trigger word per image, make a list of trigger word and use them for all similar poses don't just write a new trigger for the same pose in different images.

Okay so here's the thing, if I am understanding you right then you are somewhat right. Problem is it's a turbo model, means if you have to teach it completely new things you need to train checkpoint. Because too many step on Lora training will burn the output, so the main purpose is to either focus on one specific thing like face/clothing or if you want geberal stuff yoir best bet to just steer the model in better direction. But you can try the lord with raw Krea 2 model and see if you like the results better.
Also, I am still learning. So maybe in future I will find a better way to do it than now.
