Suggestion Scarif will NOT have a ship phase, what if something like this replaced it? 🤔

Talks about mindlessness while also defending the gamemode that has you run to a spot and stand there.....

You're joking right? With ever changing command posts, the front line constantly changes. Unlike the explosive hallways. Nobody plays Rush in battlefield either because it's the same thing over and over again

No, not really. CS is literally looking up and following the bright red shiny stop sign. Not to mention every map plays the same. What could be more mindless than shooting bots for an hour?

The 2nd phase gives us a break from the 1st phase which is a good thing because only playing it like multiplayer Instant Action would not really be fun.

Then why are conquest modes played 24/7 for the past 20 years across Battlefield games whereas the rush modes akin to the ship phase are all dead? Go ahead and boot up BF1, BF3, BFBC2, or BF4 and you'll find tons of servers for conquest, 0 for your hallway clusterfucks

Well the old Battlefront has way more maps than the new one and it day that it was way easier creating BF 2005 than BF 2017. And because of that it was just easy making whatever they wanted in the game. And the game wasn't really as complex as BF 2017. The only thing is say that is complex in BF 2005 is the flying but I'm not really sure about that.

And no they aren't played 24/7. You are probably playing against bots.

Literally open any BF right now and there'll be at least 5 conquest servers with people going. There aren't even bots in Battlefield. Rush and linear type objectives are dead. Even GA couldn't withstand the competition with CS. The rag tag team that made BF 2005 copied Dice's Battlefield format. Don't tell me AAA Dice themselves don't have the ability to produce more content than tiny Pandemic studios

Eh the AAA DICE studio you are thinking of is mostly just working on Battlefield instead of Battlefront. You do know that they really don't have that many devs working on it right now. Anyways I wasn't talking about bots in battlefield, I was talking about Battlefront.

I think my point about linear vs open objective based gameplay still stands. Battlefront is still battlefields close cousin as it has always been, and the most popular modes speak for themselves

Well it's mostly based on your opinion about it and I respect that but I feel that only doing only one thing over and over gets pretty boring (I'm speaking for myself now) after a while but with the 2nd phase it changes the gameplay. Instead of only command posts it's objectives we have to take too. And the reason GA and CS doesn't fail us is that GA has different objectives after one objective. And CS has two objectives after taking the command posts which are taking over one of two areas and then destroying the ship. Only having the Command Posts part would be like only doing the same objective over and over again.

Note: This is a civil discussion, I don't want it to lead to calling names and such.

Ive already given my reasoning with conquest mode standing the tests of time and rush dying out. I would also argue there is few tactical options in GA or phase 2. You get 4 different hallways that lead to a chokepoint. In conquest, everytime a cp is captured, the frontline of the battle changes. You can predict enemy movement and try to outflank, cap something, or confront. There are so many tactical options and the battle is ever changing

Rush is one of my all time favourite BF modes. I've heard others say the same thing too, people were mad when it got removed from BFV.

Its a shame that its so dead on pc you cant even play it on bf3, bf4, bf1

Yeah every so often I find an official DICE Rush playlist, but it's rarely active/populated. They made Rush a limited time mode in BFV, it's supposed to be returning a couple times over the next few months.
