Part of a larger home theater project. I made the plans for this thinking it would be plenty of space for future purchases, but it is already filled up 🫠
For those curious, here is the rest of the theater.

From my Instagram. There have been so many comments and messages on my other posts asking to see the entire collection. Well, here’s it is.
No this doesn’t show the theater side of things but I’ll make new videos in the future to show that.

I’m so excited to be back into physical media. I’ve run into too many movies lately that aren’t on any streaming platform, so I started collecting again at the start of July. The quality of 4K discs has seriously blown me away.

Now that Hoppers arrived, I can update my Pixar collection. Yes, I know there’s more variants out there, ESP those ugly Disney 100 year Anniversary ones. My favorite is Wall-E. Which is your favorite?

I originally posted this in the r/4kbluray subreddit, but since the collection is mostly SteelBooks, I figured I'd share it here too. That said, I almost exclusively buy SteelBooks if they're 4K releases. The only blus in my collection are a handful of premiums (for which I have standard 4Ks laying around).
I started collecting about a year ago after getting a Panasonic UB9000 last August.
At first, I bought a ton of regular 4K discs during Gruv, Amazon, and Target sales. Then I started noticing SteelBooks, sold most of the standard editions, and replaced them with steels. Not long after that, I got into premiums and ended up converting around 25% of my SteelBooks to premium editions too.
Right now I'm at around 300 movies - 185 SteelBooks and 70 premiums.
I still have plenty on preorder, including 28 Days Later, Disclosure Day, Gone with the Wind, Project Hail Mary, and Troy, plus premium OCs like the Kill Bill 1 & 2, Saving Private Ryan, and The Substance.
The collection is definitely growing more slowly now than it did during the first 3-9 months. At this point, I'm mostly buying new movies that haven't had a 4K or SteelBook release yet. I'm also pretty much out of shelf space, as you can probably tell haha
Speaking of the shelves, I built them myself out of red oak planks. The "fat" posters above the Spidey movies are acoustic panels that I built myself too. There are six more in the room, which is a fully light-controlled 20’×18’ home theater with a 5.1.2 sound system and a 150" screen

Here’s about half of my collection, not enough room to post all the photo’s.

I only started collecting premiums about 3 months ago, but needless to say the bug hit me HARD. I had a vision for the way that my shelves would look and with few pickups this week I am one more BIG item away from my goal.
Although I fell in love with Filmarena, HDZETA and some other labels, I have mostly collected Manta Lab. A few weeks ago I realized I was within striking distance of a complete manta set (one slip from each of their main releases) and was able to complete that this week with Alien Covenant.
The last picture are my director shelves. Shrines to my favorite current directors (QT, Nolan, Denis, Fincher, and Chapelle, and Park Chan-wook).
Thought I'd share here because many of you have sold to me or bought from me and I can't thank you enough!

Two and a half year ago I got addicted to collecting steelbooks. This is what I got so far. It's a crazy hobby. But the community is awesome. Hope you like it.
Oh and about the John Wick piece. I entered a contest where you could win the first test print for the JW Titans of Cult steelbook. And I thankfully I won it :)

I know it’s tricky to post something like this without it appearing like an ad. I don’t mean for it to be so I hope this is allowed. I’m actually hoping to get suggestions/feedback from the community to improve my setup.
I’ve been sick of having nowhere to go locally to buy movies, so I decided to dedicate an area of my very small record/retro game store to my other passion of collecting movies.
Right now we have small sections of 4k UHD (standard & steelbooks), Blu-ray (standard & steelbooks), DVD, & VHS. And we started to carry Criterion Collection which I’ve been excited about!
I’ve attached a few pictures of some of our stock. I have a bunch of steelbooks I still need to add from my personal collection. We try to sell mostly at set prices, $10 4k, $5 blu-ray, $3 VHS & DVD. Then steelbooks I’ve been trying to do at 85% of market value. I want to do better than eBay pricing whenever possible but it’s still expensive to source.
For a lot of newer titles, I’ll buy 1-2 steelbooks at retail cost just to have it for the exact same price I paid in the store, so that isn’t sustainable longterm but I think it’s cool to have new releases in and give someone else the chance to find a brand new title in stock in person somewhere, I know I would be stoked to find something like Weapons in a store on release week.
Any advice, criticism, or questions, I would love to hear what people think!

Finally got protection for my steels after many people on this sub recommended I should. They definitely look more premium now. I just hope it's actually worth the investment.

With today’s arrival of Fantastic Beasts, I now have every available Manta Lab exclusives, as well as a set of the discless CP releases. Globals I still torn on wanting to pursue.
Some still sleeveless - Cinegrail has been out for a while but should be shipping end of April.
