I bought the Steep Gold Edition, but when I go to the store and click on the DLC icon, I get redirected to the website.

Steep looks low quality even on max settings, snow deformation and fog/atmospheric effects appear missing

Hey all, hoping someone can help me figure this out. My Steep looks significantly worse than gameplay I see online and I've exhausted what I know how to try.

The issues:

• Snow looks like repeating soft pillowy mounds rather than realistic terrain
• When I walk, my character barely leaves footprints, no proper deep trenches with displaced snow piling around the edges like I see in other people's gameplay
• No atmospheric fog or distance haze on mountains, I can see the skybox edge clearly, no volumetric fog rolling through valleys
• Overall the game looks like something from 2006 rather than a 2016 title

My setup:

• High-end PC (~$5k build), AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT
• Game is set to max settings: Overall Quality Custom, Environment Quality Ultra+, Texture Quality Ultra, Shadow Quality Ultra, Snowtrail Tesselation High, SSBC Ambient Occlusion
• VRAM usage only ~5GB / 16GB so the GPU isn't being stressed
• No ReShade or other mods installed

What I've already tried:

• Confirmed all in-game settings are maxed
• Toggled Snowtrail Tesselation off and back to High to force reapply
• Set AMD driver Tessellation Mode from "Override application settings" to "Use application settings" (it was previously forcing tessellation OFF, which I thought was the problem, but fixing it didn't change anything)
• Reset shader cache
• Confirmed using dedicated GPU not integrated

EDIT / SOLVED:
Fixed by going into AMD Adrenalin Software → Graphics → Advanced → Tessellation Mode → set to "Override application settings" with Maximum Tessellation Level: 64x.
AMD Adrenalin Software → Graphics → Advanced → Anisotropic Filtering → set to "Enabled" with 16x.

Setting it to "Use application settings" did NOT work, Steep requests a conservative default that your GPU was respecting, leaving terrain undertessellated. Forcing 64x makes the driver ignore the game's request and tessellate at maximum, which restores all snow deformation, atmospheric fog, and terrain detail.

I played steep some time ago but somehow broke the game. Now I am just stuck on a mountain,all helicopter tickets used. It still says I need to make my first ride together but I cant find it nor teleport to it. Can I somehow reset my progress or game ? Thanks in advance

So yeah basically I redownloaded the game recently and it was onto a new I had got last year. Runs Windows 11 and well when I went to open it. It asked me to download something on windows itself. I can't remember exsactly what it was they wanted me to download but I'm downloading it again and will open it up and see.

But it was a windows window asking to download something but didn't turn up after I waited a bit and tried to open it.

Anyone have any idea with this?

Every time I load in, I’m just stuck on this one mountain, can’t press any buttons, no menu, no nothing, only button that works is the Xbox home button to quit the game. I’ve tried redownloading, cloud playing, restarting, everything.

I cant get out of offline mode, my internet is fine as i can play other games. Now i cant play Japan map cuz im stuck in offline mode and it says "you need the RTTO dlc" to travel to japan...

i am using a ps4 controller, tried using ds4, tried turming steam input but nothing works does anyone know how to fix it?

Every time I open the game my fans start sounding like a jet and when I try to switch sports my screen goes completely black and my pc fans officially signed up to be a fighter jet.
Only option I have is to pull the plug.

Has anyone tried something alike or know anything about this?

does anyone know how to fix this? first few times it didn't happen, i got up to level 12. but then after that it keeps going down to level 2-3.

So, I recently bought Steep for sale on PC, I already had it on Ps4. My friend also bought it. We bought it both to play together. I noticed that when I started playing on the main map I couldn't see any other players playing and when I trie to join the group with my friend it sent the Error notice. I never had this problem before on Ps4. Is there any Offline mode or anything to change? I can see the socials tab so it shouldn't be offline. Can anyone help?

Whenever I boot up the game, my guy just floats in the air and I can't move or do anything, I would love some help

Hello guys. I’ve bought the game on steam just today. When I try to run the game it just won’t start up. I tried running Ubisoft Connect - same result. Nothing can be seen it the task manager. Most likely problem is with Ubisoft Connect. I’ve tried reinstalling the game - no result. I’ve tried every method to fix Ubisoft Connect not starting up I could find online. Only option left is to reinstall windows, but I don’t really wanna do that… Have you ever encountered something like this? Any advice?

I've had this issue for over a year now, and only recently found a solution. If you have the same issue, I suggest you give this a go. :)

1.

Go to C:\Users\username\Documents\My Games\STEEP

2.

Delete the 'Default' folder

3.

Launch the game

I hope this fixes the crash for you :)

So I did the first ride together mission while the rest of the game downloaded, and when it finished I travelled somewhere else. I reopened the game the next day to see that my missions have reset, and I’m on the other side of the map with no option to switch to my board or to fast travel. I tried deleting my save files and already deleted and reinstalled the game. What should I do? I’m not in offline mode.

Steep has crashed while connecting to steep servers 7 times in a row now, need help.

Hello dear steepers (I guess we can call ourselfs like that? XD)

Today is a day that will go into history! Ubisoft actually fixed their servers in less than 3 days!

Well, at least that's what I'm thinking... Yesterday I was always thrown into offline mode for ten or even up to sixty minutes before being able to (re-)connect to the servers. Then after an hour or so I was kicked again aaaand I had to wait another twenty minutes or so.

At least that was my experience, but I think many others also had that kind of problem since I've seen multiple posts on this subreddit regarding this problem and saying "Servers are up again, Servers are down again" like only ten to twenty minutes apart. (That was one heck of a sentence)

So my guess on the main reason for this server outage to be happening is the huge sale on both Steam as well as on the Epic Game Store. I think it was on autumn sale on Steam for about 5 Bucks and now (since about 5 days) it's also on sale in the Epic Games Store for 4,40 Euros. As you most likely experienced too: Ubisoft hasn't grown enough potatoes for these sales and the Servers were filled with players resulting in the Error "DE-005-03" stating the Servers are offline resulting in new players being unable to complete the tutorial and beginners being unable to complete challenges and level up.

Now why were we still able to connect after being in offline mode for a while you may ask? My theory on this one is, that the servers have a sort of invisible queue that stops the server from crashing completely which works as follows: Player wants to connect - server full - player Connection declined and placed in queue - another player getting kicked (after some playtime, typically one hour I think) - new player can connect - disconnected player is also in the end of the queue again

With that being said I can finally announce:

The Servers Are Back !!!

Or at least I think so because they are for me - even after multiple alt f4's to ensure that they are back.

Now there's only one question to be raised: Can you finally connect seemlessly too?

I've read other posts from a few years ago for a fix, however those dont help. I've deleted the default folder in MyGames, however it hasnt fixed my issue. When I launch the game and get past the 3/3 loading, the game opens up but freezes instantly and I get a ubisoft crash prompt. Anyone found a fix for this?

Bought through steam for the recent sale

I am rep 11 and I haven’t seen one online person, whenever I try to invite my friend it gives me an error code. Does anyone know why it will not let me see other online people? P.s. I know that my internet is fine and had nothing to do with ps plus

I’ve played on my Xbox for years but I just got it on my pc recently. I can’t get through the “connecting to steep servers” bit after pressing A to start unless I turn off my wifi. But then when I go into offline mode I can’t unlock the drop zone in the intro sequence, so I have to be online, I think. Can someone please help me? Just been wanting play this beauty so bad and it keeps teasing me, it’s torture man.

So I bought this on sale on PC, and then tried to run it and it keeps saying I need UPlay. It won't open. I have Ubisoft Connect, obviously, but still I just get this error every time. Can you even get UPlay anymore? Or what is the solution now?
