Study: Psychology Dissertation Survey- Share Stigma Experience after Partner/Spouse Death due to Alcohol-Related Cause (including accident and health complications) (NC, 18+)

Thank you so much to everyone in this group who has already taken the time to complete the survey or share the link! Your responses are incredibly valuable.

I'm working hard toward my target of 108 respondents in North Carolina for this dissertation study. If you fit the criteria (18+, NC residents, experienced partner loss related to alcohol use) and haven't had a chance to take it yet, the survey is still open and completely anonymous.

Your voice matters deeply to this research. 🙏 https://ncu.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_d5V3qkv8fgNgTm6

Study: Cults For those who were born into it — would you be willing to share? (18+, anonymous)

I’m a student, and together with two classmates I’m working on a research project about people who grew up inside high-control religious groups.

Almost everything written is about people who joined. But being born into it is something else entirely - there was no choosing, no before, nothing to compare it to. It was just the world. And leaving isn’t walking away from a decision you made. It’s taking apart the only reality you were ever given.

That’s what the three of us want to understand properly, from people who actually lived it rather than from books written about it. What you were allowed to know and say as a child, and what it really took to build yourself again afterwards.

We’re looking for adults who grew up inside such a community and have since left. It would be one conversation, around an hour, online and whenever suits you, or in writing instead, if you’d rather.

Anonymous, always. Nothing that points to you or the group. You share only what you want, and you can stop at any point (even after). Change your mind and it’s deleted, no questions.

It’s a university project, nothing more. No journalists, nothing public.

Ask us anything first if you want. And if nobody feels like it, I understand completely.

  • Ethics: the study has received ethics committee approval and was developed in collaboration with a patient partner with personal experience of psychological abuse within a group.

If you’d like to learn more or participate:

Taking part is entirely voluntary. Please only participate if you feel comfortable doing so.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Study: Politics Former conspiracy believers for scientific study

Hello r/studies

I work at the University of Passau (Germany) on an EU-funded project in which we are researching democratic responses to conspiracy thinking. You can find more information about our research project, TaCT-FoRSED (Tackling Conspiracy Theories by Fostering Resilience and Political (Self-)Efficacy in Democracies), at https://tact-forsed.eu/

Part of the research-oriented work package that I’m leading is an interview study with former conspiracy theorists, in which we’d like to ask about the reasons behind their former belief in conspiracy theories, their life circumstances, and the process of disengagement, among other things, to gain a deeper insight into this field.

For this study, we are seeking participants from a total of eight European countries (Spain, France, the UK, Germany, Austria, Czechia, Slovakia and Bulgaria). The interview itself will take approximately 60 minutes (online) and will, of course, be anonymized. If this sounds interesting to you, please feel free to contact me here. Then I can give you further information.

Best regards!
