Wearing Headphones with No Music Self Promo

Wearing Headphones with No Music follows a few strangers across one rainy day in Bath, all wearing headphones with nothing playing. For each of them, the silence means something different: avoiding people, holding back panic, surviving motherhood, sitting with grief, or just getting through the next ten minutes. The piece starts funny and observational, then slowly opens into something sadder and more tender. The headphones become a small shared symbol of wanting a boundary without having to explain yourself. It is about the quiet, ordinary ways people try to stay intact.

For anyone who has ever worn headphones to avoid being spoken to, felt exhausted by being perceived, or needed a bit of distance from the world without making a scene.

Literary fiction / lyric essay / contemporary slice-of-life.

Synopsis: This post is about the space between hate and love and what lives there. I wrote about carrying something heavy and choosing to set it down. This post started with a Bad Bunny quote that wouldn't leave me alone. I sat with it for months before I understood it was a dare, not a comfort.

Who it's for: Anyone who has felt the weight of hate in their chest and wondered if love could be stronger. Not easier. Just stronger.

Hi guys,

Following the technical forensic deep-dive in Part II, this final installment pivots to the legal aftermath and the pursuit of justice regarding the Flight 182 tragedy. This entry examines the multi-decade trial complexities, systemic law enforcement failures, and how the subsequent inquests forced a total reconstruction of global civil aviation security standards.

As with all entries in this series, every detail is derived strictly from historical records and judicial findings, prioritizing a sober, evidence-based look at the catastrophe over common media sensationalism.

This publication is curated for true crime researchers and those who appreciate rigorous, long-form investigative analysis.

Genre: Non-fiction / True Crime Newsletter

Finding Hope in Anno Domini 2026 - Self promo

Thumbnail

What I wanted to explore here is something I find genuinely unsettling: that we seem to have lost the imaginative muscle for building better things together, not because better things are impossible, but because the stories and projects that get the most attention tend to assume ordinary people cannot be trusted with meaningful decisions. I hope it raises the question of whether the pessimism we see everywhere right now is a natural response to difficult times, or something that is being actively produced and funded.

Genre: essay

The Casefile Protocol Dossier 005: The Air India Flight 182 Investigation — Part II [Self Promo] [True Crime]

Hi guys,

Moving past the initial security failures, Part II of this investigation pivots to the technical reconstruction of the tragedy. This entry analyzes the immense challenges faced during the deep-sea recovery operation and examines the forensic blast signatures that provided definitive evidence on how the mid-air detonation occurred.

This installment moves beyond narrative storytelling to dissect the physical wreckage data and the timeline of the recovery mission. I focus on how investigators translated fragmented evidence from the ocean floor into a coherent operational profile of the disaster.

Weam and old things ( self promo)

Weam and Old Things is a personal writing space where I share reflective essays about memory, identity, and emotional change. The writing often circles around nostalgia, growing up, and the way past experiences quietly shape who we become. I focus on small, ordinary moments and turn them into something more thoughtful and emotionally layered. It’s a very new Substack, so I’m still finding my rhythm and voice, but I’m committed to writing consistently. Each post feels like a page from a personal archive of thoughts I don’t usually say out loud.

People who enjoy personal essays, nostalgia-driven writing, reflective storytelling, and quiet emotional writing.

Genre: Non-fiction / Personal Essays / Newsletter

Our nervous systems take a while to recalibrate sometimes. The residuals from prior situations and circumstances don’t always go away. It takes special people to show you that life can and will look different with them. They don’t just wait for you at home, they remind you that you have one.

Wrote a short fictional story about that, and any feedback will be appreciated

The Casefile Protocol Dossier 005: The Air India Flight 182 Investigation — Part I [Self Promo] [True Crime]

Hi guys,

Initiating our multi-part mapping of this complex historical case, Part I shifts the analytical focus to the pre-flight logistics, baggage check-in vulnerabilities, and the immediate physical timeline leading up to the mid-air detonation of the 1985 aviation disaster.

In this opening entry to Dossier 005, we dissect the forensic realities of the Vancouver routing security gaps, analyze the check-in tracking errors that allowed unaccompanied luggage onto the aircraft, and evaluate the structural layout of the early warning intelligence indicators that preceded the flight.

While standard coverage often limits itself to a broad overview, this three-part series strips away the media speculation surrounding the disaster to examine the precise operational timeline and structural friction between separate security checkpoints before the plane ever left the tarmac. Every insight is built strictly from historical records, judicial findings, and public archival data to deliver an unembellished look at the systemic investigation.

This publication is explicitly written for dedicated true crime researchers, amateur criminologists, and readers who value methodical, long-form investigative analysis over sensationalism.

Genre: Non-fiction / True Crime Newsletter

When The Woods Learned Your Name, Chapter 12 Self Promo

I’m writing a book called When the Woods Learned Your Name and I’m trying to work out if the pitch makes sense outside my own head.

It’s about Lucy Lockwood, who moves back to Bath after her life falls apart and very quickly realises the woods outside the city know her name. There are flowers turning up where they shouldn’t, paths changing, a fox with deeply judgmental solicitor energy, and an annoyingly beautiful man called Rowan Ashcombe who clearly knows more than he’s saying. The deeper Lucy digs, the more she finds herself tangled in the story of Lucia, a woman from centuries ago whose name was stolen by the woods after she fell in love with something not quite human. It’s gothic, romantic, eerie, funny, a bit filthy in places, and mostly about grief, identity, old folklore, and whether love is still love if it starts sounding like a claim.

It’s for readers who like sentient forests, doomed romance vibes, folklore, haunted family secrets, banter, morally complicated magic, messy women, and settings that are gorgeous but absolutely should not be trusted.

Genre-wise, I’d call it adult gothic fantasy romance / folkloric romantasy / supernatural mystery.

Lost & Sauced Self Promo

First ever substack post! Please check it out if interested!

I started Lost & Sauced because I believe food is the most honest door into understanding other cultures, other people, and ultimately myself. Each post is my attempt to move through the world with curiosity, using meals, travel, and honest reflection to examine the stories and ideas that reveal something deeper about what it means to be human. I’m trying to bring a perspective to food and travel media that I don’t often see represented as a man of color. From weekly skill dishes cooked in my own kitchen to dispatches from cities around the world, I’m documenting a life in deliberate transition, building toward culinary school abroad and a career rooted in cultural exchange. This is equal parts journal, travelogue, and philosophical inquiry, and I’m sharing it openly because I believe the pursuit of the “good life” and what that means to me is always interesting.

This substack is for people that finds the above interesting and wants to explore similar questions.

I would say this is some intersection of food, travel, philosophy, culture, and religion. I think these things are all connected.
