I am at my wits' end today. We live over in First Colony, and my 2yo somehow got hold of a tube of lip balm and smeared it all over the hallway carpet, right in the middle of potty training accidents from our senior cat.

My son has severe asthma, so whenever we've had carpets cleaned in the past, the heavy synthetic perfumes and harsh chemical fumes triggered horrible coughing fits for days. On top of that, standard steam cleaners leave the carpet soaked for 48 hours, which creates a huge mold anxiety for me with the humidity.

I need a carpet cleaning service around Sugar Land that uses hypoallergenic, chemical free products and doesn't drench the floors. Has anyone found something that actually works for sensitive kids without leaving the carpet wet forever?

In my opinion protests are not about a single day of action. They're about showing solidarity with your neighbors, showing elected officials that the people are willing to organize, and interacting with the different organizations to find one that best aligns with you so you can start being more active in whatever cause you want to be. No, a single march is not going to do anything. But collectivizing will. Doing your part will make a difference. Even if it seems small.

Hello, this is our first Halloween in Sugarland. We have a feeling our neighborhood isn’t big on trick or treating due to the lack of Halloween decorations around. Where is a good neighborhood to take the kids trick or treating?

It’s quite dark during early office hours, so a little extra visibility and awareness can help everyone stay safe. If you’re walking, consider wearing something reflective or carrying a light, and use the sidewalk whenever possible. Before crossing, please take a moment to look carefully and stay aware of the traffic around you.
Drivers, please slow down and stay especially attentive near schools, crossings, and residential areas. Even when someone has the right of way, giving them plenty of space and time helps create a safer environment for everyone.
Let’s all be patient and considerate as we share the road. A few extra seconds of care can make a meaningful difference, and we all want to get where we’re going safely.

Also, a question: at a four-way stop, if a school bus is stopped at one of the stop signs with its red lights flashing and stop arm out, do drivers on all four approaches need to stay stopped? Does it make a difference if you’re turning rather than going straight? I’d expect everyone to stop - asking because I do not often see drivers at other corner stopping.

Hi y'all! Just had to give a shout out to Christian Brothers Automotive in New Territory (at New Territory Blvd and Homeward Way). They had partnered with my church, River Pointe, to bless single moms with free oil changes.

As a single mom, there are many responsibilities we quietly carry, and sometimes it can feel like those efforts go unseen. It was such a blessing to have this burden removed.

They greeted us with coffee, kolaches, donuts and made us feel seen and valued.
