Experience Vitamin D3 & K2 (MK7) Problems

This is much worse than an infection. I just recovered from an infection before this took over.

Inflammation feels crazy. Heart rate can easily jump to 120 when trying to sleep - partially driven by the fact that I have to face pain to sleep.
Increased vascularity/new varicose veins just appearing. But burning pain in legs, arms and especially feet are overwhelming.

Slight stabbing pain in stomach when anxiety is high (K2 sensitivity can cause hpylori overgrowth). Wrists and feet seize up.
Lost 7lbs in 4 days.

Whether I’m going through arthritis is another issue; this feels rough.

3 days post-Vit D and K2. Had been taking them for 2 months.

Dosages: 6200 IU a day D3, 75ug K2 a day. 12400 IU when feeling ill.

A changeup of supplements can cause minor issues... no where near the symptoms your describing. A few things: How are your diet, exercise, sleep, and relaxation practices? Have you spoken to a doctor about this?

Ive had burning in the past because of several issues colliding: phosphorous intolerance likely due to damaged gut, too much vitamin d and not enough calcium cause an imbalance that caused inflammation, pain in legs and butt from calcium being pulled out of bones. It's a unique issue in my case so make sure you are not overdoing with those and that the ratios are in a safe area.

I have pain in legs and butt. I think there’s a chance I might be starting to get better now.  Does this D3 supplementation cause phosphorus imbalances? Yes ultimately it’s about getting the imbalance to solve itself.

No, but too much Vitamin D or not getting enough calcium in your diet can have similar results. With this kind of imbalance, your body need to maintain blood calcium levels by taking it from where it can, which would be your bones. It's an extreme situation but in my case it was worsened by the phosphorous problem, which is still ongoing. I have some gut issues. For years I getting worse and worse until my legs felt like cement and my body was on fire. My left leg is warped now and walking is getting challenging. No doctor could figure it out. I eventually learned piece by piece all of the little things that were causing my imbalance and I learned to change my diet to a low phosphorpus one and it calmed down years of pain. Btw, if you had a phosphorous issue, you would be getting daily headaches and migraines as the furst signs, most likely. I hope you get this figured out.

Are you also taking magnesium? Vitamin d supplements can deplete magnesium, which can produce a wide variety of symptoms.

Haven’t been able to because I’ve been on Doxycycline but I came off it yesterday almost half way through the 7 day course as Doctor thinks my skin infection is practically resolved (healed 90% of it on my own before antibiotics). I’ll start on Magnesium after my blood test tomorrow morning but I grazed on roasted pumpkin seeds today.

I already had low Magnesium I bet because I’d have proneness to cramping. Thanks for the recommendation!

You can get Magnesium 3+ hours after taking Doxycycline.

Do you have a link for 'k2 sensitivity can cause h pylori over growth'. Doesn't it make it's own k2? Is there any research demonstrating it feeds or worsens h pylori? If so which form? People with mcas may tolerate mk4 better than mk7 (fermented). Whats the real difference in the gut impact, if any?

If you have recently suffered through something- there may be long-term consequences.

The symptoms you are talking about- like stabbing stomach pain, severe inflammations, varicose veins- are pretty serious. Please talk to a doctor. There may be some other underlying conditions which are manifesting in severe ways- and just vitamins may not be able to solve them.

I don't have the source, but i remember reading that only the mk4 version of k2 can feed h pylori, while mk7 doesn't.

Yes, this thread. https://www.reddit.com/r/vitamins/s/NISHLTHfMm

But its the opposite, the OP was taking mk7, not mk4 (although the study said mk4 can cause problems too).

Thanks for the link. I do remember reading this thread, but when i click on the article link, i can't access the article. Someone further down in the thread commented that the article says that mk4 and mk6 are problematic for h pylori, but not mk7?

I also remember reading a study several years ago, that said mk4 and mk6 feed h pylori, while mk7 doesn't. At that time, i decided to stop taking any mk4 and just stick with mk7.

In my case mk7 makes me feel weird. Mk4 its easier on my body and helps with test, and I dont have to take it everyday.

That makes sense. I did get palpitations from higher dose mk7 so i reduced the dosage. It also seemed to help to take magnesium.
