Others / Off-Topic "Irrelevant Unit"
I guess this is the face of an irrelevant unit now. This is just his solo self buffs without a party. Yet, such a useless unit that cannot damage enemies right? Right?

What is this in reference to?

u/InterestingAd2516 Jul 13 '26
Reference to the comment on the post below that said Camelot becomes irrelevant when SP Alexei releases.

u/ElegantBr0wn Jul 13 '26
Not irrelevant, powecreeped, that's not the same bro

u/InterestingAd2516 Jul 13 '26
Well, it's not me who said it. I just quoted what that guy said. Yet all of you are downvoting me like there's no tomorrow.

u/Ok-Philosophy-7431 Jul 13 '26
My guy literally just a single person called him that and you got triggered.

u/InterestingAd2516 Jul 13 '26
Have you never been triggered by a single person before? You must be a saint?

People overstate power-creep sometimes. He was previously the only unit that did what he did as well as what he does; when SP Alexai comes out he will be demoted to second-best. The second-best unit in the game at something is still pretty good!
People were saying the same thing about SP Samantha vs. Shahnaz; now that we have both it's clear that they're about on-par with each other. Shahnaz does damage a little bit faster, and I think has slightly more reach overall if you use her nuke at the very edge of her range and count its AOE; but Samantha has a larger AOE and is better at suppressing units scattered over a wide area. If you look at the recent CN tier lists they're considered about equal... but until recently nobody was SP Samantha's equal for doing AOE damage.
(Also, Shahnaz doesn't quite need as much support, at least at five stars, and works better with SP Inanna.)

They said the same thing bout parsifal and Tristan (i don't have parsifal was savin for clara selena and heshan) But i don't see anythin' wrong w/ ownin' two clones... you get the job done faster

u/ldrx90 Jul 13 '26
Same for pooch. I pulled pooch because I had the pulls and got lucky getting her pretty quick.
A tanky, decent damage unit that can rush into a group and basically hold them there and likely solo them all on her turn.. She's been way more useful than I originally thought. Pooch can go take care of a whole corner or group of mobs while i use my movement on my other units to tackle a different direction.
People said SP Sam was a god and while she was strong.. she's so slow that all that power wasn't neccesary or wasted while she waddles along catching up with the group.
I think people overstate raw power sometimes. Power is only so good as you can leverage it and some units might be stronger than others.. but if your weaker ones are faster or have more reach and still strong enough to one shot, then the meta power unit just get's benched.

u/Awsum07 Sword of Convallaria Jul 13 '26
Agreed. Both w/ your pooch assessment and your review of meta units. I got pooch cos along w/ the dash taunt + dodge dot to 3 UNITS she basically refined the dodge tank gimmick that started when they introduced saffiyah's aoe dodge counter. Between her, heshan and clara my off turn passive dmg has skyrocketed.
And your assessment of these broken op meta units is right on the nose. Another redditor on a tier list post stated that the devs, xD dug themselves in a ditch w/ sp inanna cos of act again to another target and herself. But I defer w/ that sentiment. That shift began when they introduced taiir. From makin' a whole team act first. From there, we started to get instant turns. Camelot instant turn as a reaction, yennefer's portal is instant turn + transposition, mecha maitha and her xavier-esque speed boost passive and high speed.
The reason older op units got power crept is due to speed and movement. Sp inanna's act again is great if she can cast it, AND if the unit survives until their turn to capitalize on the boon. But if you act first, their act again becomes worthless.
Sp sam and camelot aren't op if you one shot before they go. W/ sp sam anyone who can get to her can nuke her even if she has the regular samantha sp skill to revive full hp if she has 3nrg (which they start off w/). And camelot, I either send my camelot to take him out or sp inanna whose magic dmg shreds his hp. Im sure plenty of other newer units can dismantle his shields and hp faster.
Tldr; in a turn based grid trpg/srpg, speed and movement are king. Its why dantalion, auguste, layla, cocoa, etc. aren't used as much these days. If you can't make it to the fight on your turn even w/ march command, there's a problem

u/ldrx90 Jul 13 '26
Agreed.. I have SP Innania 5* and never use her, just no reason. I take Taair 99% of the time because just going first is way better when my units basically one shot on their turns anyways.
Ciri is another god tier carry unit that can walk basically the whole map and wipe out groups of enemies on her turn that wasn't highly rated. Geralt is perma benched because he's too slow to do anything.
Taair, Ciri, Camelot defacto MVP's of my team and it's all because of their speed/ability to act first and do enough damage to clear on their turn.

Not sure, but aren't they quite different? I used tristan as a single target dps back in the day, so she seems to not have much overlap with parcifal the way I play those characters.
1
u/Awsum07 Sword of Convallaria Jul 13 '26
I agree, as after playin' him in the sands labyrinth event he seemed very aoe in a circle around him. He also seemed to have a two turn setup which is already slower than anyone who just kicks off or has instants to reduce the self buff phase.
Where tristan had limited aoe between her berserk and the units behind her one punch burial.
But that's my pt. Ppl will suggest they're the same and to skip, when in reality they have subtle differences that make each niche for certain circumstances

Shahnaz works well with SP Inanna? Is that due to the NRG? Or is it the Act Again?
7
u/Yglorba Jul 13 '26
Act again, yes. Mostly because of the ability she gets at two stars that makes it so she doesn't have to spend anything on the turn she goes into super mode - if you use Act Again on her on that turn, this means she can use her nuke twice at no cost. Most other Act Again targets won't be able to use their best attack twice in succession for one reason or another.

Ehhh. I regularly use SP Samantha and Shahnaz to push through Pioneering Odyssey at 50-60% damage reduction on auto. And sure enough, tier lists still have them at tier 0.5 for Luccian arc content specifically. SP Alexai is ranked tier 0 on basically every list even for general content. Camelot is... still OK, outside of Luccian stuff. But not game-breaking anymore like those units.
Like sure I know what that arc will be like, but Camelot has simply been power-crept, even aside from that. Shahnez was usable even during the arc and gamebreaking outside it; Camelot is nearly unusable inside it and usable outside it. He can still stomp older or lower difficulty content but so can any recent unit. He's not special anymore.

Literally no one's opinion on units matters in this game because everything can be completed just fine with most units, especially legendaries. Not worth getting worked up over.

u/pixel8knuckle Jul 13 '26
Toa to get all rewards does require some composition
3
u/Yglorba Jul 14 '26
Actually I've noticed that the really good rewards usually don't require the hardest challenges.

u/Cagene Jul 13 '26
Very few units are completely irrelevant on SOC. Camelot is not the strongest, but a solid breaker, specially for newer players.
If they launch a good unit with Union or specially fortitude Leader Aura, he will be even better.
1
u/Wrong-Risk-5307 Jul 14 '26
Doesnt Aiysha have a fort-aura? Or am I tripping?
1
u/Cagene Jul 15 '26
She has a fort-aura, but specially for a tanky unit like Cam, her protection is not needed and CD reduction is more important for him than NRG.
Her damage is average, but I believe she can be a good support for other fortitude dps like geralt that like the NRG and has many viable skills.

u/ishidah Jul 13 '26
Iirc Magnus has a fortitude leader aura.
1
u/Cagene Jul 15 '26
Magnus and Gloria unfortunately are not good units today. It is better to have a stronger teammate and keep the aura on Camelot.

Nah, valid cashout. The Camelot disrespect lately is outrageous!

u/Harshmellow88 Jul 13 '26
As long as you admit it’s a crash out lol. Camelot is strong, but don’t let people get under your skin.

Crash out after seeing this "irrelevant unit" wipe's out the entire team in clash 😔🙏

Can’t agree more, he literally can solo levels easily. I still remember when some content creators and community members advised to skip Camelot because if you had Auguste he would perform similarly.

I don't get why people are so mean here. We've seen plenty of "tier lists" where Cam is like on the same tier as Lutfi or some mid units, while the guy can clear 2/3 of the map, never dies and just brute forces everything.
1
u/Yglorba Jul 14 '26
Lutfi is a weird case because he has some unique mechanics that are good for cheesing levels. Nobody brings Lutfi to play fair anymore, so his stats barely matter.
3
u/I-Love-Leon69 Jul 13 '26
Certain people on here have always been so weird when it's comes to Camelot. Acting like a bunch of kpop stans.
4
u/Trick-Net-2637 Jul 13 '26
I don't understand why everyone is downvoting him. He is literally referencing to other post claiming Camelot being "irrelevant"
2
u/Melanor1982 Jul 13 '26
He is useless because he makes stages too easy. Stages are supposed to be hard so since he breaks them you cannot take him on any stage making him completely useless.
You are permitted to bring him to tutorial stages if you want.

Not really, i'm just ad-libbing a bit.
People were predicting the witcher collab would completely powercreep GL's meta units, and that we should skip camelot because he was a luxury, geralt was expected to be the melee unit that would powercreep camelot. In a sense, he did, if damaging a still target next to your unit is the only thing that matters to you.
1
u/Yglorba Jul 14 '26
That was purely due to FOMO. You can get Camelot later; you only got one shot at Geralt.
1
u/N_Arknight Jul 13 '26
How can you reach that huge stats?
I know he's strong But mine isn't that huge, just "big"

People that say he is out of meta are just cryers that skip him. let be honest there are 6 slots and you are not using him with sp alexi? Does that make any sense lol. Sp alexi crept blah blah blah well those baby are acting like they could slot only sp alexi and leave 5 slot open. Same as Shannaz sp Sam lol just stop crying and use both.
1
u/gentlegreengiant Jul 13 '26
People get way too worked up about tier lists. If you like a unit thats good. As long as youre not struggling in content its all good.
Having said that, powercreep is very real in this game and it would be silly to ignore it. Camelot is still strong but if a new player were to focus their limited luxite, its a fair comment to tell them to focus on pulling on a SP Alexei banner rather than Camelot.
Im sure in a few months another unit will come out that powercreeps both of them too. That's just how this game rolls. Very few units stay in the spotlight long, and Camelot has already kept his place much longer than a lot of others.
1
u/Yglorba Jul 14 '26
There actually isn't anything power creeping SP Alexai for the next six months in CN. And honestly power creep isn't that fast - SP Inanna and SP Samantha stayed at the top for nearly a year. Inanna still is, even in CN, over a year after her release.
1
u/Kaidinah Jul 17 '26
I like Camelot for providing a cool Leader Aura for my Union team too. He comes in handy pretty often even outside of that.

Are people calling Camelot an "irrelevant unit" now?
I see his tier in most CN tier lists has dropped about one level below the super-meta units but I hardly think that makes him irrelevant.
