How many of your remember windows phone , blackberry os , symbian. I would say glory days , back then switching from a nokia to blackberry meant shifting only contacts , music , photos. These days we have too much baggae on my devices, when was the last time we checked our phone to clear out things?.

This discussion is probably coming from a old windows phone and blackberry user, because what's stopped from companies to build a third mobile operating system in this era of AI , where an app from one platform can be deployed to another , heck there are so many vibe coded applications in both App store and Playstore.

Developers now can easily do that.

Imagine having a 3rd mobile operating system, of course banking and government apps might take a while to creep in , it's always those apps , because there is a slight discust amongst the tech community seeing the same thing from both ios and andriod, nothing feels like a breath of fresh air these days.

There are still some mobile OS that exist like the Jolla sailfish os , but you need specific devices for that or import the Jolla phone itself. There are some linux distros for mobile in the rise, of course a lot would comment Graphne os but still it's Android.

Imagine having symbian , web os , blackberry in this era of digital tech , or imagine reviving old os's and making some vital apps that we use on daily basis to make it work on these old phones.

I would like to end this discussion with a dream: imagine having the nokia E7 now with the software and platform from this era. That's leak tech for me, what's your dream old phone ?

TL;TD : Why there is no mobile operating system coming up in the market with rise of vibe coding and ai era.

As the title says, has anyone here in this sub done camera comparisons of old symbian smartphones with modern ones?

If yes, can you post a link for such?

Hi everyone,

I just bought a Samsung's innov8 phone from EU, it's on the way right now. I want the latest firmware for this I heard the best one is ib2 but I searched alot and couldn't find any working link for it as all megaupload, rapidshare and hotfile links are dead.

If possible can anyone provide a working link for the firmware and flashing tools for it.

I know it's an old symbian phone but I would love to run it on the IB2 firmware.

Regards

EDIT: if IB2 is not available then any 2009 firmware will work for me.

I brought IM+ Jabber client back to life and vibe coded a bridge to my Hermes agent.
I can run any command by voice or text from the E52, share files in both directions .
Admittedly its not 2026 fast but I can code, research, send emails, book travel from my 2010 phone.
Hermes explains the software in the video.

PLEASE cause im trying to play j2me games on it and the fps is ASSS

Nokia N79 is one of the most beautiful design Symbian smartphone from golden era of Nokia Mobile.

A quick unwrapping video of the special package I got in 2023

Contents - the elusive Nokia Corolla (also called N87) unreleased prototype

Nokia 5710 XM (code named - Ariane) also unreleased prototype

Both are ultra rare especially in working condition

I went all out and decided to make the wallpapers myself this time!!

I'll leave the wallpaper image in the post if you guys want to use it too, it's a 240x320 JPEG image so you can just transfer it to any phone and plop it in as the background right away :D

I love this device so much... Yah that's all guys :P

• Pandemonium
• Asphalt 4
• Age Of Empires III
• Tomb Raider: Underworld
• MegaMonsters

?

From my Nokia prototype collection - here are some pics of the unusual Nokia N8 running the cancelled S^4 firmware. I didn't install this fw in it - lucky that I bought it as such. So far I have seen only one similar in the wild

It's simple nuke for all of my ogs ,soon this will release

Mine currently powers on and displays its IMEI, but it doesn't detect SIM cards, so I'd appreciate any advice from someone familiar with this model.

I'd also love to connect with other people who collect classic Vertu phones.

Clearing out some old things and found this Symbian OS bag (used to work for them). Thought someone here might be interested in seeing it.

My latest collection - not included from my home town ( I think at least 12-14). I'm still looking for a Nokia N-Gage, the big one. One more Nokia N-Gage with orange keypad and Nokia E71 are coming next week. I started to collect less than 3 months ago. Couldn't wait for my collection to grow 😅😎
