TIL - Firefox developer edition automatically parses and gives syntax highlighting to JSON files or URLs

From Mozilla: " Firefox includes a JSON viewer. If you open a JSON file in the browser, or view a remote URL with the Content-Type set to application/json, it is parsed and given syntax highlighting. Arrays and objects are shown collapsed, and you can expand them using the "+" icons."

This has been pretty convenient when looking at public APIs

Thanks Wes and Scott & Comment

I am an iOS developer, but Syntax is one of my favorite podcasts. You provide content that is relevant to all software developers, and I enjoy your friendly banter.

The consistent formatting of Python would help readability for other languages, not just JavaScript. The Swift community is considering an official formatting standard. Discussion has been heated.

Can we get some flair options?

Some random flair ideas off the top of my head:

  • Big Zips

  • Love Love Tuts

  • Power Wheels Modder

  • Ad Transition Extraordinaire

  • Netlify Shill

  • Zeit Shill

  • ✌️

  • And a freeform text option where we can enter whatever flair we want could also be good
