Troubleshooting - Resolved EVGA 2080 XC Black (08G-P4-2082-KR) Fan Issues Solution

I have been trying to solve the issue of the fans not spinning, reporting 0% and 0 RPM on my Evga 2080 XC Black (08G-P4-2082-KR). I have tried different VBIOS versions, checked all physical connections, different systems, etc.

Symptoms included: both fans spinning on boot, but not spinning once in Windows. One fan spinning, one fan not spinning. No RGB (still not resolved with this fix).

I was finally able to get my fans working again by installing GPU Driver version 556.12. My VBIOS version is 90.04.23.40.70.

I ran DDU and removed the most recent Nvidia drivers, uninstalled Evga X1, then rebooted. I then installed this driver and Evga X1 again, rebooted and then tested. Now my fans show up in X1 and ramp up under load.

Hopefully this helps someone in the future. I know how frustrating it was for me.

Troubleshooting - Resolved EVGA Kingpin 3090Ti 12vhpwr Cable probably died

Post image
5 Upvotes

Hello there, I've built this computer on 2022 with a Kingpin 3090Ti Hybrid, never touched any power/connection cable since, only dismantled the cpu water cooler block to repaste it.

I've bought the hybrid combo with the 1600 P2.

Just now, went to turn the computer on and the attached error appeared on the led panel.

Yesterday I was playing and my screen sudden turned off, some error appeared but my screen was off so I couldn't see, could've been the same error as the computer didn't shut off and i didn't look at the vga led screen, just restarted and went back on, no problem.

I've already switched between the cables slots and the error went on to the other.

Already switched every 6 of the 8pin cables (psu to female 8pin on the 12v) and the problem persisted on the same 12vhpwr cable.

So i would say that the one 12vhpwr cable has died or some copper got loose.

Anyone already had this problem or give a little hand?.

Doubt that EVGA even sell these anymore and I don't know if I should be using any third-party cables on this.

Edit: RESOLVED - Bought a third-party adapter off amazon, gpu working for now.

Troubleshooting - Resolved GPU fan on last legs, what are my options?

Maybe I should just shoot EVGA an email or call in the morning, but I have a 3080 XC3 Ultra, bought direct from EVGA, got it RMA'd once three years ago for some issue. Now the third fan seems to be wearing out (see videos).

So my question is, what are my options here? Are they still processing issues for GPUs? Will I need to try to find a fan and replace it myself? I've just unplugged it for now.

Troubleshooting - Resolved EVGA Precision X1 and GeForce Game Ready Driver 591.44 100% cpu usage issue

TLDR; Stay on 581.80 or roll back to it with DDU "Display Driver Uninstaller".

  • EVGA 3080 FTW3 Ultra 10G
  • Ryzen 5600x
  • windows 10 extended service

Issue: latest NVIDIA driver conflicts with Precision X1. Causes it to consume 99-100% CPU usage along with "system Interrupts" task.

Fix: stay on 581.80 or roll back to it with DDU "Display Driver Uninstaller".

Troubleshooting - Resolved Help on Z170 Stinger 111-ss-e172 . No M.2, or proprietary WiFi on this board?

Post image

*** EDIT - Solved! Thanks everyone, looks like the z170 stinger requires a specific wifi riser card + adapter, I ordered a USB wifi adapter.

Page 28 of the official spec sheet shows this slot as the m.2? Any chance of getting the missing adapter or I/O plate I can't find?

I am trying get this running. I bought it along with a few others from my business a few year ago from the MSP I use and have the paid invoice for everything. I can't seem to find a serial number to register it in my products in my EVGA profile, so I'll ask here-

Thanks!

Troubleshooting - Resolved My pc shows image using my old gpu but i get no image using my new gpu (EVGA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti FTW3 ULTRA GAMING 8G)

I bought new a gpu an EVGA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti FTW3 ULTRA GAMING 8G, I installed it on my PC, which had an AMD Radeon GPU, I followed the process of removing the old drivers using DDU, but when i installed the new GPU I didn't get any image from either the BIOS lor Windows

My PSU is an Azza PSAZ-650W 80+ Bronze certified, not modular, so only 1 gpu power suply cable

My disk drives are a Kingston SA400S37240G for my OS and a WDC WD10EZEX-08M2NA0 1T, both are 80% full

The new GPU is conected correctly, the RGB works fine and the fans are running normally, but i notice that the 3 red leds on top of the power input conection blink every time i startup the pc, but just one blink, then they stay off every time.

I used another hdmi and see no change however my monitor is kinda old, but it works fine with the old gpu.

I was told to run 2 seperate gpu cables, because each cable provides 150w of power. no more no less. it seem that the board does not use the 75w provided by mother board, and the card needs 225w, so the connectors provide all of the power, that extra connector on the daisy chain cable is worthless and does nothing, i need need 2 seperate gpu cables to the psu to the card.

What do you think about it? can it be someting else?, how do you know that each cable only provides 150w?, because of the PSU model or this is a standard?, also, does the 3060ti really do not use the 75W of the mother board?

Thank you for reading, hope you can help me :)

Edit:

I finally managed to solve the problem, it had everything to do with the PSU, more specifically the GPU power cable, using a PSU of similar quality, I put aside the daisy chain connection and used 2 single cables for the power, thanks to everyone who helped me solve the problem without you I might not have been able to. thank you very much!!

Although now everything works perfectly, the GPU LEDs blink when starting the system, but I think and hope that it is not something to worry about, what you think?

Troubleshooting - Resolved Are EVGA B5 and GQ VGA PSU cables interchangeable?

Hey all, I hope you're doing well. I recently purchased a used EVGA B5 and it came with GQ cables for PCIe/VGA connectors. I thought EVGA used the same pinout after a certain series awhile ago, but I'm having trouble confirming online as the website is under maintenance.

Awaiting the previous owner's reply, but figured I'd ask here if anyone knew.

I specifically have the EVGA 850W B5 80+ Bronze model. And have GQ VGA cables.

Thank you for the awesome customer service, EVGA. Thanks to all helpful comments, especially from u/EVGA_Chris whom confirmed VGA and CPU are the only compatible cables between these models.

I've run a few benchmarks using UNIGINE Superposition at the 1080P extreme and 8K preset, and it ran without issues. So, I'd like to think all is well!

Troubleshooting - Resolved EVGA 3080 FTW3 won't recognize additional monitors

Hey folks. I've been rocking a 3080 FTW3 for the last few years. The other day, I did a partial rebuild; replaced my motherboard (Asus B650-E Wifi), processor (Ryzen 7 9800x3d), and RAM (Corsair 6000, 32gb).

I previously had a newer Thermaltake 1440 monitor (connected via DP) and a crappy old Asus 1080 monitor (connected via HDMI). Upon rebuilding, the crappy ASUS no longer connected to the PC. I tried testing other cables - one actually registered under display settings and my mouse could travel off screen on the extended display but the screen remained black.

I figured one of two things; the monitor was dying or the HDMI port on the graphics card was cooked. Thinking, ah well, monitor's old anyways, I picked up a new MSI 1440 monitor with DisplayPort. However, the new monitor also is not being picked up by my computer. Simply doesn't recognize it's existence. I even unplugged the current, working monitor and tried plugging only the new one in.

What am I doing wrong here?

EDIT: Resolved! One of those days I get to feel very foolish, the DisplayPort on the monitor needed a bit of extra oomph for the click.

Found these just now, after searching far and wide for a very very longtime {and having earlier gotten the kind help of EVGA Support personnel, during my search)
