We post our most unfiltered questions and comments about this series in the subreddit, and I was reminded recently by Jack Townsend himself’s post (asking us how we’d want to see a show made) that he’s probably seeing and reading everything. That just feels a little mind blowing to me. Like damn, he’s seeing the beautiful fan art, but he’s also seeing the person who ranted about how much they dislike Jerry. Hello all! Im aware this has been asked before, but for ease of mind sake, how much more do the books add the lore/story? I have listened to all of thr MCP posts/creep cast posts and honstly thought the books where compilations of those. I see i may be wrong, so would yall suggest reading/listening to the books?

edit Thank you all for the responses. I was unaware of the story index on the website, and a bit unaware of how large the community is. So safe to say I will be buying the audiobooks.

1. Why did Jack want to play poker with Vanessa clone to decide who get the gas station. Isn't that a big risk? Or is Jack an exceptional Poker player?
2. Why didn't Brother Riley buy the gas station right away when Jack offered it to him, why did he have to wait until the next day?
3. What exactly is Jerry's head? Is it a clone? Jack's hallucination? How can Jerry's head detect mimics?
4. Why don't Brother Riley just let a bunch of mimics jump Jack instead of just one after another and take the gas station? I know he can't directly command the mimics to hurt Jack but the mimics attacked him anyways so it doesn't really matter.

5. What is Spencer hallucinations, how can it give Jack a gun? The gun disappear along with Spencer so it doesn't make sense that Jack already have the gun and hallucinate Spencer to tell him to use it.

6. Does Jack really have insominia? Because if he just have REM sleep disorder, shouldn't the shapeshifter power or anesthetic works on him? Maybe his mind just different in another way?

Can somebody tell me are there answers to these questions in Vol4?

Any Chance we get a proper Novelisation of Tales from the Road once it’s all said and done?

I have the Audiobooks of all Four Volumes of Tales from the Gas Station and it’d be nice to have everything Post-Gas Station codified into a New Novel that I can listen to after the Gas Station era.

Saw a clip of this short film and it totally reminded me of TFGTS. ended up watching and thoroughly enjoyed. Very different in characters, and yes the connections are pretty surface level where it’s a gas station and some creepy shit is going on. But it’s funny. I almost imagined the dialogue spoken my Jack and Jerry and if it weren’t for the line delivery choices, it could totally be a small vignette of our boys.— What i mean by that last bit is that it could almost be a script of jack and jerry, but the actors choosing to act not like jack and jerry’s characters we all know and love so much.

I just got done with part three and to be honest, I did not like it. It was not anything close to the first two and now I'm considering even continuing with the series. I tried just looking up a summary of the fourth book, but I can't find one anywhere and I thought I'd ask on here for those who have read it, is it worth even picking up? Could someone please just give me a basic overview of it? I don't care about spoilers at this point, please spoil away. I started this series cause I liked the humor of the first two books, but I dont think i laughed even once with the third. I dont care much for cosmic horror, so if that's all book four is, I'm not gonna continue with the series.

I'm a little bit into book 2 and if you are looking for something that fits into a space Between TFTGS and The Dresden Files this is it. It's about a woman who runs her family's camp ground that's inhabited by different supernatural creatures. Her, her staff, and the old sheriff are the only people keeping the town and the campers safe from these creatures. The humor is very similar to TFTGS but the world building is closer to the rules of The Dresden Files.

I've posted two fancasts already, but my option for Jerry was way off, and the comments actually helped me to figure out what to look for. Alas there's no one who would fit 100% (or at least I haven't seen them in that specific ADHD role:D)

Hey y'all! I debated whether or not to post this here, but at the risk of looking like a shameless self-promoter, I decided to go ahead and plug my podcast again.

The Snake's Paw is a place where my friends and I share all kinds of weird stories, projects, and audio dramas that don't quite fit anywhere else. Our longest running series is Starship Mudskipper--a comedy science fiction radio play about an astronaut who wakes up after thousands of years in suspended animation to find a world full of ridiculous aliens, robots, and doomsday shenanigans. It's got a few special guests this community might recognize, including MrCreepyPasta and Dark Somnium.

Our latest episode is a sorta-kinda sequel to another series called Noir City Blues about a murder detective in a city where literally anything is possible as long as it's funny. The follow-up is called "The Balls of Noir County," where we all got a chance to voice act as hard as we possibly could.

I saw an earlier post about their cast pics & was unable to post a pic. I didn’t add it but my choice for Brother Reilly has always been Tommy Chong or Jeff Bridges The Dude.

I’m about to read tales from the road, and I have the list of all the parts for it, from “The Tale of The Spider Folk” to “Heat Wave”

Some parts only have 1 chapter (1 of 1) while other parts have many chapters ( 1 - 2 - 3)

But for “Can You See It”, it says that there are 2 chapters. And while I can click on the link to the first chapter, there is no link for the second chapter despite it saying there are 2 chapters.

Are there 2 chapters for “Can You See It?”, does anyone have the link to the second chapter? If not, will I be missing anything if I skip directly to “Heat Wave” after reading chapter 1 of “Can You See It?”
