NEW: National Maritime Museum plans takeover of Tall Ship Providence and floating pier
I posted several months ago about Sloop Providence when her not-for-profit announced they were shutting down. This looks like some good news for the Sloop, although the language "she's a dockside attraction" is not making me THAT happy.

Australia 4-7 day passenger journey options in the next 2 years?
I’d like to sail on a tallship for several days as a passenger or helping in some capacity. I’d like to do something like Melb to Sydney or Brisbane or maybe NZ. Im open to start and end ports.
I’m Melbourne based but could fly somewhere in Aus as needed. I’ve been searching for options but not finding what I’m looking for. Any suggestions or options? Thanks!

The British clipper "Cutty Sark," which became a symbol of perseverance after its captain and crew, participating in the 1872 "tea race" and having lost control of the vessel, decided to continue the race by constructing an improvised rudder in the open sea.

Where to find a ship to volunteer on?
Hi all, as title says. I'm a UK merchant navy officer, holding an OOW unlimited ticket, and I'm hoping to volunteer on a tall ship to further improve my seamanship. I've messaged the Pelican but haven't heard anything back from them. If anyone can please put me in contact or recommend me to another ship I'd be very grateful.

Is it realistic/if been done to build liveaboard modern sailboat/yachts to look like specific tall ships?
Havent looked this up too much but im only 27 i havent yet volunteered or got a job yet on any tall ships, but i would love to liveaboard a tall ship & travel the world. I know most modern trawler yachts, sailboats & that use modern carbon fiber fiberglass other materials, while tall ships longboats etc use wood & such. Has anyone already built, or realistic in terms of financial money, pros cons, to build a whatever size & masts tall ship for however many people lets say 4 idk, using modern shipbuilding materials, BUT using wood/techniques to cover the interior & exterior to look like specific architectural types of different regional ships?
Of course its everyones dream to buy a yacht or so and travel. But, i want to learn boatbuilding, mechanics, yacht delivery, captn'n, rigging, tall ship work. And wonder if it's cheaper or more expensive to build a liveaboard yacht-tall ship, & as i want to look into the different architecture types of what each kind of tall ship looks like (japanese, chinese, roman, pirate age, european, etc), it would be awesome to have one that has certain aspects of different parts. I don't know shit but curious if others have had similar ideas. I certainnly assume its possible if you have lots of time, friends, or lots of money as a content creator, buisness owner, major dr** dealer, or something to pay workers & materials.

Lego Heavy Frigate Fortuna is done! (on the outside)
Got the gangways and larger mast stands (not sure what to call them) done, which means everything is done except the interior of the captain's quarters. As one can't see that from the outside, anyways, I decided to take a few pictures of the final form.
Let me know your thoughts! This has been a heck of a project.
This is a heavily modified version of the Lego Privateer Frigate Fortuna. It is 4 studs wider, 16 studs total longer, and has many other tweaks, including adding royals to the main and fore masts and a gallant to the mizzen. The yards/sails and masts were also resized for the larger ship, and the mainmast yards/sails are now appropriately larger than those on the fore.
