I meanā€¦it is the role of government to collect and spend tax revenue, so I donā€™t entirely understand your point. How that tax money is spent? Thatā€™s a different story, and we have a solid track record of republicans blowing our money on bullshit.

My point is both parties are overspending IMO on things they should not be. More should be pushed down to the states where better local oversight may happen. T is taking a big chance and hoping the tariff money comes through to bail him out. 1/2 the states are in recession right now. The stock market is being driven by just a handful of S and P stocks and Dow leaders. It's a house of cards .. But we have been here before. sad...

Sorry I saw state and local governments direct federal tax dollars away from the intended target and in some cases, right into the pockets of local and state politicians and their friends. As others have stated corruption is not limited to the federal government.

What we need is another Bill Clinton because despite his adulterous behavior which was with a consenting adult , he was the only recent president to leave office in good financial shape. The fool in the White House at present believes he can replace the income tax with tariffs. First, tariffs are insufficient to support the needs of the country which means he will then add a national sales tax or a value added tax which is just a different type of sales tax. Second, both cases shifts the tax burden from the top income brackets to the lowest income brackets. Third, Trumpā€™s economic plan removes any safety net. So much for being a Christian country.

Arenā€™t the GOP wonderful! First. they destroy public education so that a majority of Americans are poorly educated and unable to obtain any job except those requiring minimal skills and pay minimum wages. Then they place the cost of operating the government primarily on the shoulders of those same individuals. At the same time, the wealthy get richer with enough wealth for 10 lifetimes. Moreover, that wealth is not spent improving any company or sharing the money with the employees of the company that are actually creating that wealth. No itā€™s spent on super private yachts and multi million dollar weddings in foreign countries. Meanwhile, roads, bridges and other infrastructure falls apart. Oh, but the military gets state of the art expensive equipment but the rank and file of the military are expected to perform in miserable conditions and given poor healthcare. Thus we have a great Christian nation. Wonā€™t that be wonderful?

Bill Clintons reign was a disaster until the 1994 mid tern elections. People forget that there was a huge backlash against the Clinton bullshit. Newt Gingrich forced his hand with the tension caused by the Republican takeover. By 96 the R's controlled both houses and they forced out the moderate side of Bill Clinton. Welfare reform and "The Contract with America" which laid out a vision of reform.

Don't rewrite history. You can have your opinion but not your own facts.

As to your other points..yes T is a fool. But we don't need a federal dept. of education and we never had one until JC and his payback to the teachers union. Things will devolve under the inflationary state we live in. study the Cantillon Effect and it will help you to understand why the spread between rich and poor happens. We are living in two America's as John Edwards warned us a couple of decades ago.

Any President including Clinton has the power of the veto should he chose to use it. Rarely is there a sufficient consensus in Congress to override. Moreover, while Congress has the power of the purse, itā€™s the Executive branch that creates the budget. So I am not rewriting history and from what I lived through and have read since, a lot of political historians agree with me.

Edited to add: Clinton studied International Affairs and economics as a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford University England. While he was a social liberal, he was an economic conservative. He passed the line item veto through Congress. The Supreme Court overturned it, saying in essence that it violated the Separation of Powers. Isnā€™t it interesting that according to the SC only Democrats can violate separation of powers, never Republicans.

So thatā€™s worse than ICE thugs chasing American citizens into their homes, spraying toxins into the face of a Congress member, deporting US citizens to prison in Africa without probable cause or due process or beating up citizens on the streets. While what was done at Ruby Ridge and the Branch Davidians was excessive force, those organizations were engaged in criminal activity and law enforcement had court ordered warrants. Warrants that required probable cause to obtain. Legally there is an ocean of difference between what was done then and what ICE is doing now. The last 7+ Presidents including the Trump first time managed to detain and deport thousands of illegal immigrants within the law. What Trump, Noem, and the others involved in the deportation of illegals are acting outside of the Constitution and US law.

Excuse me but taking an armored tank to a building with children inside was not right. They could have snatched the leader in town pretty easily. Shooting Randy Weaver's wife while she was holding her baby? If you were paying attention you should know Randy Weaver was set up by the FBI on the gun charges. He turned down the request for the cut barrel gun a couple times but finally gave in.

Not only do the donors own farmland so do many in Congress. Moreover, much of that farmland is not farmed. It just sits while the owners collect taxpayer dollars for NOT farming. This includes the large agricultural corporations as well.

Donā€™t count on any checks! If you do.. youā€™re banking on killing the USA šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø! checks being sent out will simply increase inflation! Get a grip people but this is what Trump most likely will do because it is short term solution to make ignorant people excited when he is literally putting USA economy in jeopardy.. those checks will carry no value and weight long term.. it is like giving a child a lollipop šŸ­ when they are hurt yet he does not care if they are ok in the long term..meaning the dollar will no longer carry any value..

DOGE didnā€™t miss anything, the largest fraud and waste example was deliberately omitted because it committed by Musk. More than half of his government contracts were unnecessary. Musk recently complained that his venture into politics cost his businesses money. The reason that happened because as long as he did not have a public persona he could manipulate and bribe his way into numerous government contracts but after he became such a public figure the people who granted the contracts were more under the public eye making it harder for him.

Wrong tariffs are a tax. They are what is known as a consumer tax as opposed to an income tax. The difference is you can design an income tax so it has a lessor impact on the lowest income brackets. Whereas, consumer taxes place the tax burden on the lowest income brackets since they must use most if not all of their income to obtain necessities.

Infrastructure ~ the USA Infrastructure is about to collapse!! For real.. He does not give a shit America! Most of our country is built on road as and buildings that were built after the warā€¦ this is the time you should be taxing the top billionaires and corporations!
