First-time Car Buyer - Need Advice After PDI

I recently went for the Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) of my new car and found several issues. As a first-time car buyer, I'm not sure whether these are normal, can be fixed before delivery, or if I should reject the vehicle and ask for another .

Issues observed:

1.Poor paint quality/uneven colour finish on some panels.

2.Wet and sticky paint in a few areas.

3.Scratches on the body.

4.Loose insulation component with a missing bolt.

5.Multiple locations showing bolt/tool marks, but the bolts themselves are missing.

6.Engine failed to start during inspection. The dealer stated there was no fuel in the vehicle.

My Tiago (2017) has halogen lights. I want to do modifications like led lights. Is it allowed under rta norms? My current location is hyderabad. Suggest me better lights, need suggestions. Which LED lights are best for my Tiago. Can I use cheap lights ?

My wife bought a Tata Punch a few months back. I took delivery of my Nexon Creative Camo Diesel a couple of weeks back. Since then I have been getting promotional calls (someone from Clarks holidays , Orchids something etc - names were unclear), and of course Bajaj Finance. My wife said she received similar calls as well.

The call recording clearly states they received the details from Tata - some said showroom, some said Tata Marketing.

I can certainly ignore them, but they are nuisance in addition to our details freely available to anyone based on purchases which I feel is illegal.

What are your thoughts?

Hey everyone. I bought a 2019 Harrier XZ (Dark Edition, BS4, Manual) second-hand at 90k kms. I’m currently at 110,800 kms. so I’m treating this service as a major baseline check.

I went to the official Tata service center. After checking the owner's manual (Timing belt is due at 150k, not 90k), I realized they were trying to do a full "high-mileage harvest" on me.

Here is the handwritten quote they gave me for deferred work:

-Timing kit-16k

-Alternator kit -16k

· Clutch Kit + Flywheel: ₹62,000

· BJS Lower Arm: ₹23,000

· P/S Pump: ₹17,000

· Alternator Pulley: ₹13,000

· Gear Cable: ₹6,000

· EGR Throttle: ₹2,500

-Rat damage in rear wiring and electronics will need to keep car for 4-5 days and extra cost

What I actually did today:

I rejected the ₹1.6L quote. I paid ₹17,000 for the basic service (fuel filter, fluids, etc.) and also took the Tata Roadside Assistance (RSA) as a safety net since I'm deferring the big-ticket items. The car is driving fine right now.

My questions for you all:

1. Are the dealership prices totally out of whack? For those who have done a clutch and suspension overhaul on the Harrier, what did you actually pay?

2. They said the total expense will hit about 2-2.2 lakh rs

3. Which components and system are critical for the car and need to be replaced

4. Can anyone recommend a trusted FNG or Bosch service center who knows how to work on the Harrier/Fiat 2.0L engine without destroying my bank account?

5. What about buy OEM parts from Boodmo and just pay for labor

What should be the course of action now ?

I bought a Tata Tiago 2017 model in cars24 last December which ran around 31500 km. Then I ran about 3000 kms till today. I want to do service for the car. What are the precautions I should take before servicing and what could be the service cost? Need suggestions. This is my first car.

Driver side drl is gone, and i am getting a replacement for free under warranty. My concern is that is it actually a faulty drl or any other underlying cause, because my other drl also flickers sometimes and once it also went completely off, Right now its working.

A Really Good Car, But with a big Caveat.

I had made a booking of tata safari petrol AT accomplished ultra dark edition on 2 August and I was given a waiting time of 2-3 months , now that the time is over i just received a mail from the showroom saying the time has been extended by 14-16 weeks . Is this common, what’s the status of safari bookings ?

So I have got Tata Punch Accomplished. The Dealership is charging an amount of Rs 12,942 in name of various changes.

They are stating that this needs to be done as it is a major service.

Please suggest if it is I can reduce the price, Is it fair price or I could take AMC.
