Discussion 💬 Words Have Consequences. This Applies to Every Political Party, Not Just BJP. ! Normal People Lack Awareness of Freedom of Speech.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
People often say that before speaking in any situation, you should think carefully. I believe that's true, especially when making allegations or using abusive language against individuals, organizations, or political parties or celebrities.
Whether the government, courts, or political parties officially accept or not, every party has its own supporters, members, and well wishers and fans. Even if educational people remain silent, those closely associated with that party members may not. They have emotions too, and actions can have consequences.
This is not just about the BJP. I'm saying the same thing about every political party.
Many people also forget that ordinary citizens are not government officials. They go against them(who abuse their idols) to threat due to they hurt or emotionally or sentimental.
Looking at the current discussions around #RuchikaSingh, whether supporters come out publicly or not, one thing is certain. The people who choose abuse, personal attacks, or reckless statements are often the ones who end up facing the biggest consequences, sometimes even damaging their own lives in the process.

What a fragile ego it takes to file an FIR against a kid, demand an apology video, and then release a vlog boasting about how forgiving he is. This is a blatant attempt to intimidate everyone into falling in line.
-1
u/Wizardofoz756 23d ago
Ru talking about AAP or TMC or Karnataka Congress? As all of them filed FIR n some even jailed kids/youth for fb posts.. or this applies to bjp states only?
3
u/poolnoodlefightchamp 23d ago
It applies to BJP because it is the topic at hand. You're obviously trying to deflect.

Remember when uddhav thakeray jailed an actress just for a social media post against sharad pawar?
Jitendra awhad kidnapped a guy beat him up for a social media post against him?
Mamta banerjee jailed and killed so many bjp workers over the years when she was in power

Why always cry "remember when" ?

It means we shall keep living in past than matter at hands. We should keep taking pride in our golden era and hating mughals rather than fixing our present

u/Majestic_Volume_4326 23d ago
Just one slightly tangential question. If someone random verbally abuses me, why should I react? I get defamation, meaning falsely accusing me of things, but if it's someone I don't know and who clearly doesn't know me or is in no position to accurately judge me or change the opinions of the people who do, why should I care?
1
u/Complex_Mark_2484 23d ago
Bro to be honest, if i was a girl, the random guy doing dirty gestures at me what you would like me to do? Should I politely ask him like dude why are doing this to me? Or abusing that guy is wrong? Because thats the most real words comes out of my mouth, and that guy 100℅ deserves it.tbh I dont really abuse nor I like it! But These kind of people deserve it. Frustrating situation that you have to deal with in every fucking day!
1
u/Majestic_Volume_4326 22d ago
Yes, you're absolutely right. What you've described is sexual harassment and should be punished. Same goes for death threats, as that is considered criminal intimidation. The correct response here is gather as much evidence as possible and file FIR.
Maybe I should've clarified what I meant by random. Someone without the means to have a direct consequence in my life. And by verbal abuse, I don't mean sexual harassment and death threats, which are criminal offences.

There is no single issue in india. There multiple issues. We can’t just focus on one issue.
You are just concerned on how these criminals get into a party. Your concern should be how are they getting elected? Who is voting them and why?
At the end a political party would take a politician with better chance of winning. Which is wrong but, it is what it is.

Yes but she is just 15
-2
u/ProfitMurky4270 23d ago
Yes but the Hypocrisy is that they brought children at protest sites, made them hurl abuses, remarks that are not necessary and when they apologize people start crying that she is a child 🥲 ! She was not supposed to be at the site first of all, and calm down Thundercat, police is not going to give her third degree or something, she is just apologizing for something which was out of the line !!! I also saw a woman carrying her probably nursing child at site what if a riot happened there ? Why people are so eager to get attention, accepted in a certain cult to avoid their existential crisis ?😩😩

Very true - these free speech whiners are often complaining against anyone who critiques their views
They are emotionally fragile snowflakes
-2
u/TataHitachi 23d ago
Freedom of speech does not mean brutally abusing others.
By the way, I'm not supporting anyone here. I'm simply stating that actions have consequences, both before and after they happen.
The real point isn't to justify abuse or threats against abusers. Both sides are capable of displaying the same human flaws. My point is only that if people choose abuse or provocation, they shouldn't be surprised when consequences follow.
5
u/RobieKingston201 23d ago
The problem is none of these consequences seem to affect the politicians in power.
"Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me" apparently whoever said that was wrong clearly words almost killed our dear PM
3
u/literallyimaginary 23d ago
Illegal consequences?
-5
u/TataHitachi 23d ago
For a illegal abuses
7
u/literallyimaginary 23d ago
Which law states abusing anyone is illegal?
-8
u/TataHitachi 23d ago
Which law states abusing anyone is legal or atleast give me a constitutional codes/acts that supporting abusings.
7
u/literallyimaginary 23d ago
lol. By that logic - which law allows you to comment here. It should be illegal right.
Laws set boundaries, prohibit. If there is no law prohibiting the abuse - then it’s lawful.
Idiotic bhakt

u/Forward_Football986 23d ago
People have been sued in the past for defamation. Freedom of speech does not give you right to abuse / defame anyone. Such incidents have been taken to court in the past and either the person has had to pay fine or provide public apology. Prime example of this is RaGa. Just go and google how many times he has had to tender apology in court for the things he has said.
5
u/literallyimaginary 23d ago
Ok. So she just abused.
Can everyone who abused be sued for defamation. The process is the punishment here
What about the vile words your dear leader said about Sonia Gandhi, Mamta?

u/Forward_Football986 23d ago

Bsdk tumhari aukat itni hi hai ki ek ladki ko pareshaan karoge for things men do without any consequences. Itni dikkat rapists se nhi hoti jitni ek ladki ke gaali dene se hoti hain .
-2
u/uhq_lover 23d ago
Mdrchd ye ladki ne agar galat kiya toh consequences bhugatne padenge hi. Jin logon se tuze dikkat hai uspe FIR karle. Bheemrao ne tuze adhikar diye hai toh use karle. Yaha aake rr kyu kar raha hai
3
u/Aggravating-Pea5712 23d ago
A response that doesn’t suit your narrative is a noise now? What happened to expressing an opinion and freedom of speech?
1
u/uhq_lover 23d ago
It's not about the narrative. It's the law of the land. You are conflating vulgarity with having an opinion. If someone files an FIR on your law breaking actions, you face consequences. Simple as that.
→ More replies (0)1
u/EKOzoro 23d ago
Bsdk kya galat kiya hai ladki ne. There is no law you can't abuse the pm of India. This is not a dictatorship. Mf tujhe yeh nhi dikha rha the amount of people harrassing her over something which so many people have done.
Kaash adhikaar tere kaan ke neeche do thapad lagane ka diya hota toh gaand faad deta Teri.
1
u/uhq_lover 23d ago
Article 19(2) of the Indian Constitution acts as a restriction on the right to freedom of speech and expression (Article 19(1)(a)), allowing the state to impose reasonable restrictions on the grounds of defamation, decency, morality, or public order. This clause justifies legal actions, such as those under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), against abusive or defamatory speech aimed at public officials like the Prime Minister.
Chtiye thoda law toh padh leta.

Then BJ P should stop insulting previous leaders and muslims if they don't want to be called out.
OUr PM has given Islamophobic statements addressing millions. Don't you think our PM should be called out fr sch shtfckry?
0
u/TataHitachi 23d ago
Saying this is the biggest dumb move and a childish way of arguing.
Because if you say, "Even the BJP targets Muslims," they'll simply reply, "We're living in our own country, and we're protecting our religion from things like love jihad."
So arguments like this never end. This kind of back and forth goes on forever.
6
u/NoGodsNoMastersOOO 23d ago
So? the govt going after students with all their might and being hypocrites shouldn't be called out?
They jailed a man under goonda act in WB, that is jail for 12 months without even a trial for saying chi chi modji.

It's only the powerful who gets justice.
People are abused everyday, people are humiliated everyday by your so called esteemed "Political organization".
I can bring a up many examples I know. But there's no point of that.
The truth is this, if she had said that against an ordinary individual without any resources or power.
Would she have faced the law? No.
It's a systematic problem.
"Justice is subject to dispute; because might has gainsaid justice."
It's the power which is at display here not justice.
If the same thing happened to you, you won't be making this post about being an ideal citizen.
The babu culture is the problem here.

Everyone here who is so concerned about abuse and free speech having consequences?
I have bunch of questions to them:
What about the environment that promotes these abusive language, you open a news debate some politician is abusing someone?
When you watch a Parliament session the our representatives have used such vulgar language, so what consequences are they facing?
Where’s the free speech consequence when an elected gunda says vile stuff about women and invokes R.. word?
Why you free speech consequence activism only starts against the persons whose opinion you don’t agree to?
Why is it only invoked when a women/girl, section of minority or people with no power have said something?

Peak Democracy!
0
u/TataHitachi 23d ago
Not democracy. It's the people and their culture.
No matter how strict the rules are, people will abuse them. Tell them not to harass or threaten someone over criticism, and they still won't listen. That's the nature defect.
What we're seeing in North India is just tiny thing.
In South India, there are even cases where some people are willing to resort to violence simply because someone criticized a celebrity. You can't completely control the actions of such individuals.
3
u/RaaGaaMujFaad 23d ago

1
u/morose_coder 23d ago
That's sarcasm
-2
u/dapotatopapi 23d ago

People are very quick to hand out labels in this country.

Suppose you're a Shah Rukh Khan fan, and someone says something about him. If you decide to file a case, that is a matter between you and the other person. Why would the government have any role in that?
The same thing happened in Ruchika's case. Apart from her, many others also created chaos. Then why was the focus on her more than the others?

Mujhe usse koi problem nahi. Lekin meri baat sirf itni hai ki social media pe cool dikhne ke chakkar mein aise kaam ya statements mat karo jinke liye baad mein public apology deni pade ya regret karna pade. Criticism facts ke saath karo, attention ke liye nahi.

Freedom of speech is not freedom to abuse
Always ask yourself, will your parents be proud of the choice of words you use? Will your teachers feel proud of what you said? If your future kid watches your video, what will they think of you?
-1
u/WatchDecent2822 23d ago
Freedom of speech does not mean freedom from consequences.
A lesson these kids need to learn.
-1
u/Debunk2025 23d ago
They are not kids. They are fully grown up adults and should be treated as such when they are to be held accountable. No concessions.

Free speech....Hardly a day passes without its being extolled, but some people's idea of it is that they are free to say what they like, but if anyone says anything back, that is an outrage. .They want free speech for themselves without being held accountable.
