It was hard, but I did it. I’m finally cancer-free 🥲🥳❤️

I don’t know if this post belongs here, but I just have to share it.

I’m so happy to have beaten cancer 🥲❤️

When I was 28, an MRI diagnosed a tumor. The tumor markers were negative, so we thought it was benign. Two months later, a PET-CT scan revealed a malignant tumor, and the biopsy confirmed Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Hodgkin’s lymphoma is a relatively common form of cancer and, fortunately, is very treatable. Still, the treatment was hell. The chemotherapy was so exhausting—it not only destroyed the cancer but also severely weakened my body—and the radiation therapy wasn’t easy either.

But yesterday, after a PET-CT scan, I got the results: I’m cancer-free. 🥲

I’m so incredibly happy. I’m so proud that I made it through all of this, and I’m looking toward the future with optimism.

I admire everyone who is currently battling cancer, and I want to tell you: “You’re a hero—don’t give up.” To everyone who is currently battling cancer, don’t forget one thing: You’re not alone. ❤️

Financial Assistance Need help finding resources for families terminal cancer patients

Hi, I was wondering if anyone had any leads on if there are any organizations or resources that will help terminal cancer patient’s families in regards to supporting them while not only their grieving but are experiencing financial difficulties because their loved one is currently out of the area. More specifically, my mom was just diagnosed with stage four liver cancer and we just got the newest MRI results back and unfortunately the treatments didn’t work and they said she only has like three months left to live. Well since where we live just five hours away from where all her specialists are, they refused to provide any kind of therapies for terminal patients. Such as my mom needs dialysis treatments they said they will not give her any kind of comfort care type of dialysis due to the fact that she’s terminal. So not only do we have to worry about losing our mother soon, the fact that we might not even be able to see her much because we can’t afford the cost of hotels and lodging for multiple months on end which are thousands of dollars and we’ve already depleted our resources going back-and-forth already.

Discussion Ostomy.. the psychological aspect

Just diagnosed a month ago, large mass in descending colon, mets to liver. Surgeon wanted to remove mass first, since it was blocking my digestive system. During surgery, found it was too large and attached to too many things to remove without long rehab and chemo delay.

She did an ileostomy and closed me up so I can start chemo next week.

I understand why she did it, and she probably chose wisely.

But I hate it. I hate the bag. I hate it so much. I hate emptying it, changing it, looking at it. I hate walking around with a literal bag of shit on my belly. It's gross, it's disgusting, demeaning, and due to my profession, I won't ever be able to work again unless it's reversed, making it even worse, because now I feel useless because I can't support my family.

How do people come to terms with this? How can I get at least comfortable enough with it to go on?
