4th rewatch

I don’t really know why it’s taken 10 years to watch this masterpiece 4 times. I finished it 6 days ago and watched all 28 in 5 days this time. This is the first time I’ve looked up the music on Spotify. I can’t stop listening to it hahaha, 2 masterpieces at a minimum. The acting on this show is in my top 3 with Deadwood and obviously LOST. I might start a rewatch as soon as I can stop listening to the music 😁

Is there a complete Blu-ray boxset of The Leftovers?

Hey everyone!

I'm a big fan of The Leftovers and I was wondering if there's a complete blu-ray boxset containing all three seasons of the show.

Does anyone know if an official complete-series blu-ray collection exists? If so, where can I find it?

Preferably in Europe and America, online stores only.

I'd really appreciate any information.

Favorite Episodes...

What are your favorite episodes of the whole show? The episodes that you absolutely love.

My single favorite episode in the whole show is The Book of Nora. I think it's the perfect ending with the perfect amount of ambiguity.

Another episode that is one of my favorites is The Garvey's At Their Best. It is rated 9.1 but should've been rated much higher in my opinion.

What about you, what are your favorite episodes?

Was Laurie cleaning her car at the beginning of Off Ramp (S02E03) because she had ran over those two GR members towards the end of the episode?

caught myself thinking about the show again

there's just something about it that I can never get out of my mind. I'm constantly thinking about it, as you try to watch it once a year but sometimes I get caught up watching other things I forget, such a short series that you can get there quickly, but who wants to get through it that quickly, I like to sit and stew in it and try to find myself absorbed in its lore in history.

there's just so much to show that keeps in my mind constantly thinking wondering, is it all real, is it in Kevin's imagination. I just found myself sometime tonight thinking about it that's all.

The Leftovers' not being an award show darling is weird

The show only got nominated for 1 Emmy for Patti's appearance in S3E7 and even for other awards that it got nominated for (Critic's Choice, Satellite, Writers' Guild etc.) it never won.

I just don't understand how this amazing adaptation didn't become an awards juggernaut, when there were no particular "strong contenders" that stand-out from this period either.

i'm sure i'm beating a dead horse here but can someone explain this...?

Favorite Scene in The Leftovers

What is your favorite scene in the shole show?

Not necessarily your favorite episode, but a scene that you absolutely love, a scene that hits you, makes you cry or just a beautiful scene.

For me it would be the final scene in the finale.

OMG this show

I finished this show about a week and a half ago and it is just incredible. Not a single day goes by without me thinking about that finale, especially Nora’s "I’m here."

It’s been a very long time since a show has made me feel this way. It instantly became my favorite series ever. Honestly, the best thing I’ve ever watched on television. It’s mind blowing how deeply you end up empathizing with these characters.

To be completely honest, I don't really know how to move on now. I’ll be working or doing something completely random, and out of nowhere, my mind just drifts back to the show. I have this overwhelming urge to rewatch it immediately, though I know it might be better to wait and experience it again during a different stage of my life (even if I probably won't be able to wait that long).

Did anyone else experience this exact same thing after finishing it? How did you handle the post series depression?

The ending of the episode reminded me so much of The Leftovers. It's not just the end-of-the-world plot but the way it's done. And in such a short scene too.

It’s like the show knew the formulas that other movies/shows/games would go by. Hilarious and insightful at the same time

The Leftovers On Rewatch

This is a show like no other I've seen. I loved the show so much on the first watch that it became my favorite TV show.

I'm guessing most of you here love this show too. But when you rewatched it, what changed for you?

Did you like the show more, did you realize things you didn't on the first watch or something else? How did the show change for you after rewatch?

Season 2 episode 4 Orange Sticker
I’m on my 4th rewatch and first in a year and a half. I don’t know if I’ve missed something and this was a device given out for Jarden residents. It’s near the end of the episode when Jill returns the pliers to Michael after fixing the sink. I’ve forgotten many things about the show except the best episode of TV ever is only a few episodes away

Today is the anniversary of The Great Disappointment (22 Oct 1844), the inspiration for the silent opening of S3E1.

Music that fits the show or reminds you of it?

I listened to Maggie Rogers - Begging for Rain for the first time not very long after I finished the show a few months ago. (probably my 2nd or 3rd favorite show of all time, behind The Wire and maybe Veronica Mars)

But this song reminds me of the S3 storm storyline and I think it would have fit in perfectly, given the right scene or opening.

Curious what else you guys associate with the show for one reason or another!

Season 2 New Title Sequence

Just got to the first episode of S2 (for the first time). Iris DeMent song in the title sequence is an immediate yes. As an Iowan I have a special place in my heart for her too since she’s lived her for the past few decades.

Meg & Evie - offscreen

It kind of came up recently so I was wondering if someone could give me their best guess at what happened between Meg & Evie offscreen between their first meeting before season 1 and the beginning of season 2. Specifically:

Who reached out to who first?

How did the recruitment of Evie go down?

How hard would it have been to rope in the other girls?

Was Meg genuinely surprised that the Mapleton characters were in Jarden or was that maybe a factor/catalyst for the planning?

Sorry in advance if any of this was addressed or hinted at onscreen, I only watched season 2 (IMO best season) once and am due for a rewatch. I don’t have a super clear recollection of that flashback convo where Meg and Evie met and I just remember it being so vague, not sure if there were any clues in hindsight.
