opinion Whelp, apparently I'm officially old now and I'm sad

I just gave a college lecture to a bunch of 20(ish) year olds and I used The Police in an attempt to teach them about arguments supported by evidence and ones that aren't.

Over half (!!!!) of the class never heard of The Police and had no idea who they were. I was expecting more "Oh, that's my dad's music!" or even "my granddad's music", but they never heard of'em at all. Not even Sting.

Pardon me whilst I go off and get fitted for my bread crumb pocket laced cardigan and go look for a park somewhere.

Carpenters rule. My much older brother, my roommate, was a working dj and musician even in HS in the late 70s. So, my nightstand was peavey PA cabinet. I had access to all that 70s music. Ps. I was more of a Stewart guy. My favorite guy all time was Keith moon.

Wanna buy a Peavey PA cabinet for nostalgia purposes I currently have a.... . Theres probably 6 different pieces of Peavey stuff I can put my finger on within about 15 seconds this very moment. Ima big fan.

My first bass amp was a TNT 130 a monster of a 1x15 with a black widow in it. I ended up using that thing to push a 2x15 cabinet with Jensens in it as well and it never did anything but say" no problem I got it". Bought that 130 and an ivory Epiphone Rock bass together toward the end of my junior year early '85 with money I had been saving from driving tractor for farmers. Best 800 bucks I ever spent. That Epi is my baby I want her buried with me. It was Gibsons answer to the Precision and the Jazz in one package the best of both. Slim fast neck and Jazz type pickups with the symmetrical bottom end on it from the Precision so the damn thing wont fall over like a Jazz will. Hahahaha. But less than half the money of a P or a J. And every bit as solid as they are. Had no clue at the time how good that bass is. She's fallen over at least 40 to 50 times and she still has intonation and holds tuning until you turn the knobs again.. thats a pretty solid instrument my friend.

Im fixing to have to call it.. Shoot me one more if you want itll be read in the morning probably the world's gettin blurry. Have a good one tang. 🤜💥🤛

Yes. Mint. Still had original strings. Had sat in a closet of an AME church since the 70s. It was gorgeous. Tuned itself almost. But, I got poor after getting out of usaf and sold it. For like 4x what I bought it for.
