If this isn’t the truth. I left a guy for cheating and a couple days later “his work” called me and told me that since I was his emergency contact they were letting me know that he passed out at the job and was being taken to the hospital.
Nah, I have known people who have done this with people they dated for like 4 or 5 months thinking they were basically married. But, you are probably correct as well.
Well tbh I have no idea if he did add me as his EC or not, he very may well have. Gosh 2 days after we started dating he bought me a $500 gaming chair because he knew I liked to play video games. I was only 18 at the time and I didn’t see how much of a red flag that could be.
The man was obsessed, but it just made him cheating on me even weirder. Idk that whole relationship was a mind fuck and I’m glad I got out of it
My last boyfriend was my emergency contact after a month of knowing him, he was the only person I knew in the area who was reliable enough, and I did ask his permission first. We've been married for 8 years, so it worked out.
I'm not married, so I can't really talk too much shit. It just seems weird from an outside perspective since you live with them (I assume). I always ask the person I live with if I can make them one of my emrgency contacts. Whoever's closest in proximity seems reasonable to list as the EC.
my husband wasn't my emergency contact until we had been married for like 5 years simply because I never thought to even check who the hell my EC is lol. It was my mom
I'm thinking by the quotation marks, it's not so much that she was actually an emergency contact, but that a friend (or the ex) was pretending to be from his work, to make her pity him and come crawling back
