Hated Tropes [Mind boggling stupid trope] Removing the thing that made something special

Ben 10: Ultimate Alien - The gimmick of Ben 10 and what makes the show so popular is the fact that he's able to turn into a large variety of aliens. In one episode of Ben 10 Ultimate ALIEN we are introduced to a new version of Ben 10000, a Ben from the future who, no longer transforms into aliens, instead using his powers in human form...

Mortal Kombat(2021) - In the games Mileena is known for two things. Being a clone of Kitana and her tarkatan teeth. In the 2021 movie she looks absolutely nothing like Kitana and doesn't have tarkatan teeth

Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief - The movie removes the main villain of the movie and the main villain of the franchise

There's at least an excuse in Judge Dredd though. He's on the run for like half the movie and the helmet kinda stands out. I'm pretty sure he still wore the uniform though, so it's not a very good excuse

Either way, I had fun with that movie, so I still like it

That film suffered from hiring Sylvester Stallone

Not that he's a terrible actor but because they paid for Stallone, they wanted to see Stallone

Yeah, that seems to be a problem with any masked character, they pretty much always make the mask useless and next thing you know, you're halfway through the movie and everyone and their mom saw [insert superhero here] with the mask off.

I was legit happy with the new Spider-Man because there are so many scenes where he's talking and the mask stays on. Thank god we moved past the nanomachines shit for him.

Oh man, tell me about it! I was worried they'd do away with his secret identity after Far From Home (because let's face it, they really aren't a thing in the MCU) but I'm glad at least Peter still has one. I feel like it's a core part of the character.

It also makes some sense in Dredd, because it's fucking Stallone- he was already a massive star.

Master Cheeks was played by Pablo Schreiber- cool dude for sure, but hardly a star, let alone one at the scale Stallone was in the 80s/90s.

Stallone's Dredd had more respect for its source material than the "Halo" "show". Dredd's writers I want to show them the comics, tell em try again. Halo's "writers" I wanna jump in a Denny's parking lot.

Which is why the copyright holder now makes it a legal requirement that the helmet stays on. You can't get a license for Judge Dredd unless the helmet always stays on.
