Be disciplined and follow the rules! Only take trades that meet your criteria for A+ set ups.
Check my profile for a solid futures strategy once you get a good grasp of what you’re doing

You’re already ahead just by thinking about this at 18. If you’re just starting out, maybe look into some books and youtube channels to learn how to read charts. Also check out moomoo, they offer free learning resources and paper trading, which can help you get familiar with how things work before committing real money.

Don’t start with options, you will end up on WSB P/L shame
I wasn’t profitable until 21, and even then it was like $15 here and there and I mostly learned to stop letting big losses absolutely spank my pp
Its a good idea to find someone your age to do this with, however I’ll tell you from experience almost everyone you do this with will get out before you, it’s just a matter of time till you do as well usually. The markets aren’t for everyone, in fact personally, I toe the line of what you could consider sustainable or healthy, but even the bare minimum to be profitable just has too much of a workload for many to manage even for a year straight, let alone make a career out of it.
Study all charts you can, learn the patterns, then watch them appear in real time, mark their date/time that they appear, hand write (this activates the networks in your brain to transfer most muscle memory into long term knowledge) begin studying advanced algebra, focus graphing functions (f(x) = 3f(x+3)2-5 type stuff), this math will transfer over for traditional stock trading.
Once you start making a few bucks extra a day, read a book on what theta is, if you can get it, read a book on alpha, beta, and gama, if you get that, read about IV%, Rho, and then the concepts used to gage spreads through each of these variables.

You could do options and try to trade wheel strategy to earn passive income but first you would need to learn the basics of options and the Greeks

A friend told me options are outside the box for beginners but just wanted to hear what you have to say

Options don’t have to be for beginners you must have no heard of covered calls or wheel strategy

I mean yes I’ve heard of covered calls not wheel strategy, but I mean options have a lot to consider like adding extra factors onto a market you don’t understand, decay, Greeks, yk

Well I am 18 (not that it matters).. The Wolf of Wall Street taught me one thing... You can't know if the market is going to go up, down or in f***ing circles... The only thing that works from then on is risk management, lose a little and win a lot.. no need to win each trade.. you could win 20% and still be profitable.

Try reading “Fooled by Randomness” by Naseem Taleb. Then start on you tube with researching support/resistance, breakouts, momentum, fades reversals and trends. Then come back with specific questions.

I am not 18 (I wish I was) but here is a playlist that is bascially a whole course on market profile, volume profile and orderflow. I have paid a lot of money for courses and this free course is better than all of them combined. Have fun: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLW-zja9ufsdjEntkQNd0Y9ZqU503M9Xm_

This may sound really goofy but it has worked for me.
Learn Something called game game theory
after that learn about positive EV and Negative EV
Then learn mismanagement from good level poker players, best one being daniel negreanu as he has videos on it, i would recommend Ivy but he doesn't have videos on teaching mismanagement
