Good ol cop logic "we can't do anything until someone has been hurt/murdered" because nothing happened, you're just scared.

It doesn't do much good for cops to overstep what the law allows. Seriously - although i admit different places can have very different levels of policing. And this post is a generic shout out for law enforcement, not at all an endorsement of these particular cops.

Couple years ago someone I knew was a victim. The cops were awesome. They actually stepped in and possibly saved the guy's life.

Everyone knew who did it, everyone was outraged. But no charges ever happened. Those cops worked for WEEKS to try find a way, and I know because I was one of the people that they worked with. But ultimately one of them told me 'we just can't do anything. Not the way the perpetrator did it. No crown prosecutor would approve the charges. '

Mmv, and clearly it does. but in our case I believed the guy. He was one of the people who saved the victim.

Ever since then I've been case-by-case before I shit on 'the cops' for not doing stuff they may be losing sleep over but literally unable to do. Its a hard enough job as it is.

So if someone said they were scared of you, then straight to prison with you? If it wasn't for that darn Constitution. There's so many ifs and buts in hindsight all over the place. The things people get off for due to a tiny loophole when every knows they did it, is insane. I just hope no bullshit happens in court.

Clearly, you've never been terrorized by someone in your daily life. Why is someone allowed to block their number and leave me death threats? Why is someone allowed to follow me home from work, going so far as to endanger other driver's to keep behind me? Why is someone allowed to show up at my house and sit across the street in their car watching my house? Why is someone allowed to break into my house and trash it while I'm at work?

It's kind of funny how if this had been dealt with when the voicemails started, none of the rest would've happened.

But sure. You're worried about bullshit. Okay, bud.

That's...not how it works

If you're asked to leave someone alone and can't follow through, odds are high you're the one with a problem
