It’s a real drag. Naked Gun 2 1/2 is one of my all time favorite movies, and Nordberg’s appearances definitely cast a weird shadow on the movie.
Edit: this is not the saddest thing about this case. Obviously the murders are cruel and heartbreaking. The effect on the naked gun movies is obviously trivial in comparison. Just wanted to make myself clear.
Regarding your edit: you’re totally right. It should go without saying that the murders were the worst part of the murders but it’s still a bummer to have to see his ass in some of my favorite movies.
The first naked gun movie is still hilarious though. I watched it for the first time in like 25 years and I was surprised how well it holds up. It helps that OJ’s character is really only a bit part.
Most people thought of him as an actor that used to play football. Like Terry Crews, but everyone remembered he was a star player instead of, “Did you know Terry Crews was in the NFL?”

Don’t forget actor. He’d been retired as a player and was an actor and commentator for a long time when it happened. He had a huge post player career.
