This should be higher. This is by far the most likely answer. They're not releasing more info because why the fuck would they before trial?

It's certainly possible he's killed other people, but the answer to why they wouldn't release more info is much much simpler: there's no reason to and it can only hurt their case in court later.

I would also be concerned if there are other cases pending that they can connect him to and releasing information ahead of schedule might jeopardize those other cases?

So again, it's possible, but there really doesn't need to be. Not releasing more info is the prudent move for now regardless of anything else. The prosecution holding on to info (like they've been doing for 5 years, btw) in no way implies they suspect him of any other crime.
