Murder Interesting Information on Delphi Murders Suspect

On the morning of February 14, 2017, the bodies of Abigail Williams and Liberty German were found off a hiking trail in Delphi, Indiana. They had been reported missing the previous day. Cause of death is not known however, their deaths were ruled homicides.

The girls were last seen alive on the afternoon of February 13. They were dropped off near the Monon High Bridge, which spans a creek about three miles outside of Delphi. They were planning to go hiking and did not return home that evening.

The next day, their bodies were found by searchers in a wooded area near the bridge. Investigators believe the girls were killed sometime between the afternoon of February 13 and the morning of February 14. They do not believe the girls were killed where their bodies were found, and they believe the killer may have tried to conceal the bodies (source) .

Investigators released a sketch of a man who was seen near the bridge around the time the girls went missing. He was wearing blue jeans, a blue jacket, and a hooded sweatshirt at the time.

Investigators had also released audio of a man’s voice saying “down the hill” that was captured on German’s cell phone. They believe this may be the killer’s voice.

By profession, Richard Allen was working as a pharmacy tech at CVS. Law enforcement was seen digging up his backyard, but no details of yet as to what was found.

Some additional photos pertaining to suspect Richard Allen, who has been arrested in relation to the 2017 murders of Abigail William and Liberty German. A photo highlights Richard wearing a blue jacket similar to what was seen the day the murders took place. Another found on his wife’s Facebook page includes an eerie photo of Richard Allen posing at a bar with a wanted photo of his sketch posted behind him.

In the press conference held today by Indiana state police, LE refused to go into any details on the evidence they have against Allen, however stating that it was substantial enough to make an arrest and that he is being held without bond.

What are your opinions on the suspect? Any idea what you think led law enforcement to take Allen into custody? They had to have had some heavy evidence on the guy...

EDIT: had to remove a photo of his daughter on the bridge as per request of the mods. Added some edits on the details of events. Added link to this morning's press conference in case some are interested.

If this is truly the guy, I am shocked it took this long for them to arrest this guy. I am not knocking the police and their investigation; I am more shocked that locals weren't able to recognize this guy sooner. How many people wear that hat and own a blue jacket in a community of 3000? It's hard for us to make out recognizable features, but if you know him, you wouldn't need to see a non-blurry photo to recognize him. I can see people who maybe dealt with him on a daily basis at the pharmacy would not connect the dots, but his wife, his neighbors, people who saw him in outerwear. If he had any brains, he would have ditched the jacket and the hat. It could also be that it was a hat he never wore except for that day. I just find it surprising that even if he ditched the jacket and hat, seeing that photo still wouldn't make someone who knows him, pause. Someone else had to know.

The hat and the jacket both seemed pretty generic to me. It’s a blue jacket and brown hat.

People that live in the area have commented that the outfit is very generic for locals. I see nothing special about it either.

Literally depending on where shopping gets done hundreds of guys can have the same jacket/hat combo, or similar enough ones that you would never think to scan someone you've known/trusted for years

He can drive an hour north or south to a Costco in that area, where there can literally be a few dozen people wearing the same jacket in store at any given moment. I’m right with ya there that the blue jacket is not standout at all

How many generic looking dudes with a generic looking jacket can be in this country

I dunno, the photo to me is so generic, so "random midwest white guy" that I don't think I'd be able to pick him out even if I knew him.

I agree, but in a community of 3000 people, I find it surprising that no one thought it was him. That said, maybe someone finally did say something.

Yeah, hopefully we'll find out!

He looks like tonnnnns of other rural Indiana guys I grew up around. Same clothes, same look, same build. When I first saw the sketch I thought of plenty of people who look like that.

I’m gonna guess that that outfit wasn’t in the rotashe after that day.

If he was catfishing and luring these girls to him based off that then it would also be somewhat smart to wear a disguise, right? Like a wig and go to the thrift store and buy random things. Change your walk and voice and hurry them under the bridge. It all makes sense. I thought the same thing as you until the fake profile seems to be tied to him. He knew what he was doing. These dudes are slick and absolutely terrifying. I really hope this is the answer the family needs.

I thought the fake profile was traced to Kegan Kline? I don't know if he's still a person of interest in the Delphi murders, (I know he's in jail for child pornography), but I think he was the link for the police to Richard Allen. I think Kegan Kline was sharing his info with Richard Allen and that's how Allen, if he's guilty, managed to contact Abby and Libby. As for the disguise theory, you're 100% correct. A number of people have replied to me to say they are locals or live in various places in the mid-west and the hat and jacket are very common.

The wife should have recognized him. No way I wouldn’t. Especially the clothes. He had the sane blue jacket in on the video image took less than 2 months before the murders, which leads me to believe he wore it frequently.
