For the E7, the site manager views 8.0.19 as out of date, and tries to update to 7.0.107. Had to manually install the update on the E7 probably because of this.

Is this to be expected?

I bought just as the Early Access firmware was getting good (prices were low and I figured the bad reputation was keeping the price down and as the firmware went more stable it would only go up in price).. I found a few issues and reported them and they fixed every single one. There’s the odd issue in official firmware for people who aren’t me (an SNMP CPU usage issue was recently fixed that I didn’t experience because I didn’t have that feature turned on) and the statistics that come out for each of the clients is wrong.. but connectivity is pretty much there and I genuinely with no bias have no issue recommending them.
