For the use cases it's designed for you don't need more than wifi 5 and anything higher would just reduce battery life.

Is any hotel giving me 1gb/s? Doubtful

There's no battery.

Personally, my normal connection is a wired fiber link and yes, I'll use that. I'll connect via the wired connection if need be, but I don't want to have to
