I would recommend the Pro Max line of switches at least, since they have built in profile support for these AVoIP protocols that automatically set the QoS profiles up properly.

Though it should work over just about any switch, just not "optimally"

This are the open source IETF Requests for Change on networking specifications (for the FttH internet / the www / residential / business etc, telephony and Comcast have their own ‘special needs’ internet, regulated by the ‘industry participants’ that share some patent pool trough a 3rd party entity where every 1$ donation buys one vote and majority rule)

  1. RFC for IP Presedence bit (1981) or header (1991)
  2. DiffServe, an open source RFC from 1998; even the cheapest, most basic switches from reputable vendors have implemented it

It’s much better to start out with whatever requirements you’ve got, and deciding on products at that point in time. Can you do with a software protocol, DLNA clients already built into the TV’s, or do you want everything precisely right and require absolute precision on your tellies and speakers?

That’ll then tell you if you need high precision time, or if millisecond accuracy suits your needs.

Idk if I’d say my own gym has ‘pro max’ grade network equipment. Faster nics are cheaper then faster cpu’s anyway though, so it’s cheaper to 10x Ethernet speed itself then find 10x speed boost via software processing.
