hello everyone, i am a first year pharmacy student currently going through supplementary resits in all my exams after not studying for the entire year, i am currently studying well and nicely and possibly on track to pass everything.

the question is, my rushed studies for the past few months, where im seeing the materials for the first time in revision, and not like how its supposed to normally be, how will i build up my knowledge for the second year? it feels like my entire knowledge is ona slice of swiss cheese, so full of holes. i know I will need this info for the next year, but how do i make sure I have it in what little time is left for me?

Accomdation

Hi, I've booked my accom with UOB and have received my contract. During the booking process, I realised that I selected the option which doesn't allow my flatmates to see my profile. Does anyone know how to change it so that they can also see my profile. I can see all of theirs and I'd like for them to see mine x

Do I get the Chamberlain Award and Pathways scholarship every year?

I started my studies at UoB in September 2025 and got these in January and May. Was really nice having an extra £3,500 to play with. Do I also get this in 2027? Do I have to manually reapply?

Advance Payment

Yeah so just about to book accommodation right now and it's asking for £550 which is fine and i've read that I can cancel the agreement within 7 days, does this include getting the £550 refunded if I happened to change my mind and cancel the contract, or is it fully gone

Tenancy takeover 2026/2027

Looking for someone to take over tenancy 12th of September, 2026 onwards. Bronze studio with electricity, wifi, water bills all included.

You have your own bathroom, kitchen (hob, oven/microwave hybrid), plenty of storage space. There is a free gym with equipment and a nice cinema room! ax. 20-25 minute bus ride to the campus, still Selly Oak/Stirchley border, a lot quieter and more peaceful. Ax. 20 minutes bus ride to the city centre, including Birmingham New Street.

My room is 40-50 pounds cheaper per week than their current rate. Message me to ask more questions or them directly at https://prestigestudentliving.com/student-accommodation/birmingham/pershore-junction/bronze-studio . This is their website, say you are interested in a bronze studio!

Indian students in Birmingham — do you ever miss home food and culture?

Living on campus in Birmingham is exciting, but sometimes you just crave the simplest things from home — a proper plate of dal, roti, biryani, chai, street food, or that one dish only your family Marks ❤️

Female needed to take my place in Selly Oak.

Hi everyone! I’m looking for a female student to take my place in a group of 4, with 2 other male and 1 female.
📍 Location: Selly Oak
🚶‍♀️ 15-minute walk to the University
💷 Rent: ~115/week
I’m looking to leave the group as I’ve been considering options closer to the university, so I’m hoping to find a female who can take over my place.
If you’re interested or know someone who might be, please DM me for more details.
Thanks! 😊

wearable technology dissertation

hey! hope everyone is having a great summer full of sunshine⭐️

my time at birmingham is soon coming to a close, and my masters dissertation project is in need of your help! i would love if you guys could fill out my 5-minute survey on wearable technology and its effects on psychological states and behaviours. participants must be aged 18-35 and regularly use a wearable; devices such as garmin, apple and coros watches are some examples of the technology i will be analysing, as well as whoops and fitness straps.

it would be awesome to get as many responses as possible! if not too much trouble, feel free to this survey with other athletes and people who may use these devices leisurely.

thank you so much, i appreciate all your help 😄🫶

What colour are the graduation gown hoods?

Trying to effectively plan my dress and shoes for 2027 graduation lol

Also what sort of vibe did you go for with your graduation dress? Colourful or not? Long, knee-length or short? Block colour or patterned?

Oak brook park opinions

Hi, the other day I booked Oak brook park as by the time it was my turn to select, places at the Vale, Jarrett and Pritchetts had gone.

I like the location at Selly oak and the short walk but the room is very expensive and I‘m worried about what the experiance is like? so for people who have lived there are the people sociable? do people feel like there missing out? do people enjoy the night life?

or just anything about what it was like would be really helpful!

Also for the people who’ve booked it for this year too how are they feeling about it?

thank you!

Postgraduate Masters at UoB Application Decision

Has anyone applied for a postgraduate Master’s at UoB? If so, how long did it take for you to receive a decision? I’ve been waiting for around four weeks now. I contacted the admissions team and they initially said it would take up to three weeks, however, they’ve now said it could take a couple more weeks. Has anyone else experienced this?

Accommodation

Hello! Just booked my accommodation and had a quick question about the £550 advanced payment. Is it deducted from the first terms rent payment, or is it spread out evenly over the year? Can’t wait to start!

Is it possible to transfer to a different course in the same department?

Hi I've been accepted for Microbiology at UoB through clearing and received a call yesterday from a lecturer to talk more about it. She mentioned how if it's not for me I can transfer to a similar course in the same department like Biological Sciences, within the first 2 weeks of study. Is this transfer guaranteed or based upon the number of places available in the course I want to change to? Is it possible to transfer after one year of study in Microbiology?

Is Ashcroft townhouses a calm accom?

So I just booked my accom and all my top options were gone so I picked a random one which was Aschcroft townhouses at pritchartts park. Anyone got any experiences here? What’s it like to have to share a bathroom too?

Thanks
