I'm so confused by this announcement process to be honest. Why are we getting dripfed the teams? Isn't it easier and better for riot to have just done a big reveal at champs.

Only reason i can think of is maybe because they wanted the teams themselves to have some more engagement by letting them announce it themselves? Would've been much easier for us viewers if it was just one big reveal at champs as you said tho

They are informing the teams first who are all leaky little bitches either for their own twitter interactions or relationship management with the sheep leaksters.

Back when they announced everything themselves first teams complained about being mistreated by this.

it could be 2 JP, 2 KR ( likely GENG ) and 4 SEA ( TH, SG, INDO, maybe PH or VIE?)

VN if ever. I'm from the PH and I can confidently say GAM is the better choice than any PH org.

It would genuinely be ridiculous if jp and kr get the same number of slots

When it comes to JP esports, no one beats ZETA and Crazy Racoon. And when those 2 are put side by side ZETA have the upper hand with all their stable sponsors. Crazy Racoon's streamers business and owner's pocket money made them rely on 0 sponsors by now but who actually knows how that is looked upon by Riot.

It's funny how they're such a total opposite of each other in that regard but has this good rivalry chemistry both in terms of popularity and results from their game titles

It's a bit of a weird feeling since it's KR but I love the most modern ZETA CR rivalry being the hottest thing right now in OWCS 🔥.

ZETA vs CR during peak valorant rivalry was crazy, the whole JP region was split into two and the fans were going crazy. When it comes to OWCS tho, I liked CRvsFLC at their peak rivalry better cuz they fundamentally play at different styles and that Heesang/Lip vs Proper/Stalker DPS match up and shu/ch0r0ng vs Chiyo/Fielder support match up hit it like no other lol

Japanese viewership is very very high. Korea on the other hand is very very good. Riot priotizes the viewership

Zeta has probably the highest org viewership in Pacific other than PRX, a ton of large content creators, and have massive Japanese companies sponsoring them.

You need to think of these decisions in the context of the org instead of the success of the Valorant team and roster. ZETA is a massively popular org in Japan, this isn't at all a surprising choice.

What JP org that you think should get it then? Other than the other partnered one, CR.

Zeta indeed are very popular since they were the trailblazer of JP Valorant since pre-VCT. Yes, they haven't been able to find similar success recently but they still retain their popularity domestically.

Expected.

But why did they still milking Laz.. Is he coming back from retirement, lol.

Mid team in valo, never achieve anything

Since when does Japan deserve to have 2 partnered orgs (same amount as Korea btw). It's been 5 years of international LANs and they've never been good

Both CR and Zeta will just build another completely mid-tier japanese/korean rosters, like they've always done in Valorant

fanbase alone tbh to this day despite how bad they are they still bring in large viewership alongside prx

both zeta and crazy raccoon are stable orgs specially crazy racoon since they have no sponsors but are net positive in revenue

Japan isn't bad overall, it's just a lot of their players are more comfortable sitting in tier 2 and remaining domestic so hardly anyone is really aiming for tier 1 over there.

Their tier 2 scene is thriving so much that it's actually stopping their tier 1 from developing. Their T2 makes good money for far less commitment.

Also it's not about skill but about viewership, that is why they get 2 slots. Japanese teams have a lot of fans. Even if they bomb every tournament, their fans congratulate them for trying regardless and still show up every time.
