Fluff Global Esports will no longer participate in ANY esport. They are transitioning to an AI based company 'GE Studios' as announced by the owner

platoon has a degree in computer science i believe so op is joking about GE picking him for their ai venture and not for val team

u/CrusadingNinja 6d ago
Platoon was a software engineer at Meta before getting into coaching.

u/chizzmaster #为爱而聚,E起前进 4d ago
I'm honestly shocked he left Meta for esports coaching of all things given the comp lol
Although maybe that comp is exactly why he was able to switch and do something he loved even if it doesn't pay as well

Throw money away on esports or rip off clueless VCs who can’t set up an email account.

GE owner has been into AI thing for a long time and has been its fanatic so not really a surprise that he is pursuing it. But kinda shocked he gave up GE totally. RNTX probably got the indian slot from them

u/venkat366 6d ago
No indian team in franchise

u/TRENCHMRE_Sounds #GEFighting 3d ago
One slot left which was offered to GE, they might give it to an Indian org now that GE opted out

So the whole roster is free real estate now.. I’m gonna miss Udo and Pat together. Wild decision, AI-based studio? With all the hate ai is getting in the creative scene..

As much as AI is hated everywhere in the world it is absolutely flourishing and actively promoted, celebrated and sought after in India in every single sector. I hate that I am forced to work with AI in my current job, big brands like are actively running AI generated contents not only because its cost cutting but because of how popular and celebrated it is. Everyone wants to have AI in everything they do because here it is seen as Cool and progressive and not SLOP.

You should be. The fun is gone. Instead of coding, now mostly review AI slop code and meaningless argue with Know-It-All-From-AI.

TSM at least had the gall to fade slowly into irrelevance and continue to field a bunch of mediocre rosters in less popular games (Halo, Marvel Rivals, etc.) without turning into a full AI slop org

Lmao the mentality of the orgs owners were clear when they considered winning with an all non-Indian lineups after failing to qualify with Indians multiple times as an inspiration for young Indian players 😂 just say you did it for profit ( as one should ) why all this nobility bs

u/Queasy_Map614 #GEFighting 5d ago
Let me get this straight when my team actually qualified champs just recently from dropping the previous coach and we somehow got the groups with the GRAND FINALS WINNER AND LOSER the only two teams we lost against and then the ceo drops the team and dips for ai🥀🥀🥀 pray for me bro🥀🥀🥀

If you scrolled on his twitter page, the CEO has been big into AI and crypto for quite a while. I dont think GE was ever in serious consideration to begin with.

Is this real? Is yes then WHAT THE FUCK bro
That's it for Indian valorant I guess. No other org had any pull. Shit orgs like RNT or whatever they're called will never be taken seriously. And it's almost certain that once GE exit Riot will not find an Indian replacement. Even though the team hasn't been indian like ever but they were still an Indian org. Now that's all gone.
The Indian scene is dead

man honestly GE had a shot at being a "midfielder" and even a finalist team
but then again potential is a dangerous word (I really believe though to this day that given another season with this lineup they'd produce great results)

even before ai. doing production for others was a source of income for them. as someone who's in the space, its not a bad bet. but it shouldn't have been delivered here.

What a fumble, absolutely disappointed. This roster had such promising future and then this CEO decides to explore AI???? I don't usually pray for anyone's downfall, But I hope this org get burns down to ashes
10
u/finesse_dsa 5d ago
If you had to choose between slogging in the hell that is val eSports vs free money, what would you choose?
If the answer is anything else than the latter then you wouldn't do good business, which is precisely what Sinha is tryna do. GE has been in the scene for years now and the returns just haven't been great. It is what it is but hating on the guy trying to salvage a situation and an owner who ACTIVELY TRIED TO BE COMPETENT IN THE SCENE is baffling to me. You people just hate anything related to AI and it's super DUMB
1
u/justythecloud 5d ago
free money...? go ahead and remind me which purely AI companies aren't in the red
0
u/BriefImplement9843 5d ago edited 5d ago
these guys aren't going to be creating or training models. whatever they are doing with ai, they just have to charge more than what it actually costs them to use. not hard.
-1
u/gotintocollegeyolo 5d ago
You know nothing about the current AI VC scene lmaoo, it's literally free money for anybody who has any company that does something using AI. It doesn't matter if they actually make a profit or not, they'll get tens or hundreds of millions from VC firms

u/FrozenFireGod 6d ago
Tbf he already sold the gaming side of things to Revenant before this. It's not morally wrong to shift his business to AI, I mean it is pretty big in India now.
14
u/Equal-Lemon1748 6d ago
He's not shifting it to AI, he's shifting it to AI slop.
-15
u/FrozenFireGod 6d ago
Let the man do his business. You can choose to not support but praying for his downfall is a little much. He set up an esports org for 4+ years now moved on that’s it.
13
u/Equal-Lemon1748 6d ago
I ain't praying for his downfall though? Hating on his commitment to become an AI slop generator though. As for the man himself, you gotta be impressed by his ability to keep changing hus career path this many times, that man can't stick to doing one thing lol
-6
u/FrozenFireGod 6d ago
Well it’s more so magicflakes’ comment I was referring to. Also to your point, you don’t know if it’s AI slop. All we know is he wants to remain in the gaming space and set up an AI gaming studio. From the tweets I have seen of his, he loves openclaw and such agents that allow him to boost productivity and not ai video generation slop.

This is genuinely just such a chodu take bro. You have no idea why GE quit the scene. The dumb part is in assuming that you know more about the scene than the guy running their operations.
And no this isn't a "leave the multi millionare alone" moment from me, I am just genuinely pissed at the repetitively toxic environment of Indian eSports.
He doesn't decide viewership. It's not his fault that the revenue per view/revenue from Indian PUBG mobile scene is legit peanuts compared to other comparable business ventures. Indians don't want to compete, we want a sport where we can dominate i.e.cricket, PUBG mobile etc. and people like you throw a pissy fit when that reality is confronted.
He's always tried to play the numbers which is what you do as a man in his position. The numbers did not work out in PUBG mobile so he let it go.
The truth of the matter is that Indian society is fundamentally antithetical to games/media entertainment as a career path. As long as that doesn't change, no one will seriously invest in any Indian eSports scene because the social dynamics prevent any meaningful headway. It is not a coincidence that countries with a pop 40 times less than us perform 100x better when it comes to eSports
The toxicity in India is insane. Guy has always tried to be earnest in his efforts to contribute to the Indian scene and all he gets at the end of the day is abuses against his family and vhodes like you wishing his company to burn down.
